Hello everyone, New to the forum but not to scoots, owned several over the last 30 years.
My daily rider until recently is a Icebear Maddog - with a BBK and taller gears.
Last week I picked up a 07 JMStar JSD250 (How I found the site) cheap with low miles. Rode it home, it ran rough the CDI was in failure mode and died after state inspection requiring me to push it home. One issue I noted while it was running was the temp...it was running just below the red except at highway speeds. Had to replace the cooling fan...still finding temps near the red.
So after a bit of searching - I found waterless coolant may be part of the answer...it has a much higher boiling point so the cooling system doesn't go under pressure - It should help save hoses, seals and gasket. It is also suppose to be more effective coolant and kinder to aluminum.
Has anybody had any experience with waterless (Evans) or used it?
One more question - It looks like there should be some shrouding to "duct" the air through the rad...it looks too easy for the air to go around. I thought I had seen a shroud for the rad..but now I can't find it.
Sorry for the long first post...Thanks in advance!
