Smelling gas as in is the carb getting gas then yes.

Last time it ran was April this year.
Emptied the fuel tank and put clean fuel in
Corrected the fuel filter flow direction
Found the fuel over flow connected to the intake manifold? Not sure if that’s correct
Check for spark ( good)
Still won’t start?
