So I got this 2013 150cc propel gy6 engine. About a month ago with 1300miles. Took it on a long trip from Wisconsin to Ohio, now reads about 3300 miles. My friend said it looked like a Bumblebee so that stuck.
Hope this image thing works
So during travels I did oil and gear lubricant change twice. At about 3000 miles during second oils changed, my uncle noticed a rear tire wobble and found splines were effed up. So that got replaced. Also clean up transmission, put dry lube on my slightly rounded 17g rollers. put on a new 835-20-30 Kevlar belt. We pulled off a 847 but internet people said 835 is better. Got the kickstarter to work better than before. This was in Illinois. I don't know that much about mechanics but I can watch enough hours YouTube videos until I figure out what to do.
All is well I am back on road and about 100miles in I'm noticing my rpms are a bit lower and I can go a bit faster top end. Take offs slightly slower. I don't mind I'd rather have top end. I assume it's the clean up, new tire and new belt.
Started playing with going 65mph, mostly was doing 45-50 before. Then I lose all power to tire. Engine sounds good but no go to the throttle. So I check and my new Kevlar belt is just shredded. Could I have been going to fast and belt slipped off? I noticed maybe a place where maybe a rock could go through but I doubt it, will gasket that part soon.
Anyways got a 847 Kevlar belt. Put that on, road it home another 100miles. Everything is running perfect.
Now here's where I did stupid things and am trying desperately to fix it.
I was one town away from home and thought I needed gas soon, my gauge don't work so I count miles. Gotten pretty good at counting miles so I figured I'd make it to the station. Well I could see the station when I ran outta gas and walked my bike to the pupmp.
I put in the good stuff, I have a feeling my bike appreciates good gas but I really don't know. ? Tiny tank is cheap enough to fill with premium.
Anyways it takes a try or two but it starts up again and I'm back on the road yay!
I am one country block away from home after being gone a month. I'm excited. I wonder how fast my bike can go... So I open throttle on this country road. (Thinking if the belt has an issue I now carry a back up and close to my garage.) Woohoo yay goes like 65-70+ easy. Well says my spedometer I'm thinking next time I'm running I'll use my cellphone as a speedometer to DBL check it's accuracy.
Is there an rpm where I'm suppose to stop even if it sound good? I didn't let it go past 9000..
Soooo bike starts sputtering. It's like cutting in and out. Dies. Has trouble starting again. Starts ..sputters.. then dies and I walk it home half a block....
I have fallen in love with this motorbike (that's what I call it sounds cooler to me then moped/scooter lol but too each thier own).
I can't get it to start.
Was told that the stunt I did with gas could have clogged fuel filter. Started looking at diagrams, found filter. I looked clean. I blew through it. Seems okay. Don't think I have to replace it?
Then turned to Youtube for help.
Found this
I followed it and everything from kill switch to all the wires to the cdi to the coil to the spark plug seems great. But I has no spark when I put plug against engine ground. Well except once when I was effing around with plugging in/out the cdi, but that has been unrepeatable. For shiggles I replaced the sparkplug..still no go. So video concludes I need a cdi. Where to get a decent one?

I'm the kind of person who would like to know why something happened and not just replace a bunch of parts (1 I don't have that kind of money, 2 what if the problem originated elsewhere?)
Now looking at some forums I hear I could have blown the cdi, if I tried to start for more than 5seconds. I don't think I did that but I have tried to start it alot so it's a possibility. Charged my battery a bit so I could keep trying things.
Now I'm concerned the problem wasn't even electrical to start with.
When I try to start it a splash of gas dumps out. I'm pretty sure most is coming from the carb drain plug spiraly screw dealy by the transmission. I think that's a good thing. That's what it's suppose to do right? But then I noticed the fuel inlet to the carb...God I hope I'm getting this right I'm so new to this... Was loose. So I ziptied the hose good, covering the metal bit. But after I cleaned it up I noticed gas coming out in drops still...
I am so lost what to do. I think maybe I could do all the fuel and vacumn lines.. some pieces im not sure what they do but I could just put a new hose to it. And put ziptied where all the innefficient hose clamps are now, some are even missing. But like I'm worried I'd do all that work for nothing. Could it be leaking like from the carburator? Should I get a carburator? Which one? Leaks where the fuel inlet is but the hose isn't the problem. I'm rather sure I zipped that hose on tight.
I'm lost here.
Any help is much appreciated.
