Well, I got everything put back where it belongs. Here's what I know now. I charged up the battery before trying to turn it over. It has 12.7v when I took it off the charger. I tried starting it a few times and I got the starter to crank but it did not sound like the engine was trying to fire. While I was trying to start it I got a voltage reading on the battery and it went down to 11.4v. Not sure where to go from here...

Well, I got the scooter back. It's in pieces but its mostly just the body parts which will make it easy for me to work on it. I put the air cleaner (which they managed to break) back in and the air hose. The only thing I can't figure out is where the part in the picture goes. Once I have it back in order then I'll get on trying to figure out what's wrong with it. Thanks guys! Attachments:

I'm going to agree with you guys. I took it to him because he had done right by my Dad a couple times they needed their scooter fixed. I have had the same problem with the scoot for a while and I figured he would be able to get it fixed. He said he's going to try one more thing and I told him if that doesn't work to put it back together and I'll come pick it up. He wants me to pay him $700 if his last idea works but I can tell you that won't be happening. From now on I'll be getting my scooter advice from you guys and working on it myself. I will let you know when I have it back and I can start from scratch. Assuming he hasn't made it worse... Thanks again!

Still not results from the mechanic working on the bike. He's had it since April now. I've given him all the information you guys have provided for me and he's not been able to get any results. Apparently they haven't been able to get it started in more than a couple weeks. I guess it's becoming nothing more than a paper weight. I appreciate the input though! Hopefully we'll have a result before the riding season is over.

Alleyoop - Any idea what would be causing too much gas to fall into the intake when it's sitting and not running? I'm curious of how to fix that problme. I haven't heard from the guy working on it in a while and he's the second guy to look at it. The first one told me, "It just starts hard." Which I thought was a joke. In any case I'm about ready to ask for it back and see if I can figure it out on my own.

Thanks guys. I printed out your suggestions and gave them to the guy working on it. Hopefully I'll hear back sometime this week if he figured out the problem.

I'm having trouble getting my scooter to start on a regular basis. When I try to start it the starter spins and I can hear some popping but it won't fire up. I can smell gas so it's getting gas. I have also replaced the battery, had the CDI changed, and had the valves adjusted. (All done by a mechanic by the way.) But still no luck. The only time I've been able to get it to fire up is after the battery has been fully charged. It will run and start fine but the next day it wont fire unless the battery has been given more juice. It has happened with the old battery and the new so that doesn't appear to be the problem. I have tested the voltage while under load and it is good. I was hoping someone might have a suggestion for something else to try. Thanks in advance.

Well, I got the starting issue figured out. The battery was weak. It would only start it after it had a good charge on it. My new problem is an idle adjustment. There does appear to be the typical idle adjusment screw but instead a cable with threads and then a screw head on the end of it. I have tried turning it and can't get anything to move or change. The scoot is idling under 1000rpms and dies after running for a short time. It definitely has a fuel supply issue.
Also while it's running I hear a pop that sounds like a backfire. it does it between 2200 and 3000 RPMs but over that it doesn't do it.
I guess the good thing is it runs, now getting the kinks worked out is the next step.
Thanks in advance.

After wrestling with it for a while I was able to get the plug out and found it has a spark. I put it back together and could not get it going and eventually drained the battery. I put the battery on a trickle charge for three hours and tried it again before I went to bed. It fired on the first try. Once I got it running it idled for a bit and then died. I started it again and same thing. It's obvious to me the idle needs adjusting. I looked for an idle adjustment screw and could not find one. I will take a picture and post it and maybe you can help me.
With that being said, my question is, do you think the battery may be weak which could be hurting the starting?

I do have a cover and whenever it's not being ridden it is covered. I'll check it for spark tonight and see what I come up with. Thanks again.

Well, the saga of my bike continues. After fixing the air hose it started easy for about a week. I was able to ride it about five days in a row. Then I let it sit one day when it was raining and the next day it wouldn't start cold again. I got it running last night again and it idled for a while and died on its own. It continued to start up each time it was shut off. But I tried agian this morning and nothing. Still looking like it could be an enricher problem?
Thanks.

Thanks Alleyoop. I finally got a chance to dig into it today. I found the air intake was not connected to the air filter which I'm guessing is the reason it wouldn't pump any fuel to the carb. I put it on, tightened the clamp, and after three tries it fired right up. From what I could see it looked like everything else was connected. We'll see if it starts that easy again tomorrow.

I am a new owner of a Roketa MC-62-250. Just had it in the shop to get tuned up and everything. The only issue is I'm having real trouble getting my scoot started. I've been able to get it running a few times and have put about 13 miles on it. It really is a struggle to get going though. Once it's up and running it runs just fine. Saturday night I got it going and took it for a 10 mile ride. About an hour after I got home I went out to see if it would start again and it fired right up. Sunday morning I gave it a try and I couldn't get it to start so it appears it's only an issue when it has sat for a while. Anyone have any tips or suggestions that can help me get it going? I bought it to ride to work but I certainly won't be doing that until I can rely on it. I am well versed on how engines work so any suggestions would be appreciated!
