Bought the special tool and it pulled the threads on the rotor. Made a plate and drilled holes to match the fan used the fan bolts , put plate against the crank nut left plenty of distance all that did was bend the plate. It appears that there are threads remaining in the rotor so I am wondering if the tool was bad, but my gut is telling me that the plate method should have worked. Next step is a 3 jaw puller.
