Thanks, it won't start with the front brake applied? I've tried shorting the start button as well. Think it might be a combination of problems or just one loose wire. He is using it to go to college so I don't want my messing around to make it not work at all.At least it kick starts so he can get there and back.
Thanks for help.

Hi Classacted.
The two year was meant as a joke/please explain very clearly.
The battery voltage is fine, first thing I checked.
I have searched but can not find anything telling me why one brake switch lights up but the other doesn't. I know the system work together but looking at the circuit diagram I can't see where back brake and front brake split to enable the starter circuit.
I will try shorting out the starter to see if that works.

Hi all,
My son has just got a 2019 sym simply 50, it worked fine with the electric start for a while but now only kick starts. I have taken the console off and see both brake switches go through the same wires, I also looked at the wiring schematic and do not understand how the starter circuit tells the difference between brakes. With power on, engine off, the front brake handle illuminates the brake light but the back brake handle does not. I tried shorting the switch but it still did not light the brake light. The back brake switch must be working otherwise it would not kick start.
Can anyone suggest where else to look? I'm new to mopeds so please talk to me like a two year old😁
Thanks for any help/suggestions
Cheers Lee...
