Yes I do have a volt meter, I have never used it to speak of, but I do know how to turn it on. I have used it to check golf cart battery voltage and such.
After I smoked the new solenoid, I re-installed the old one, jumped across the solenoid, surprise, npw it does not start, turns over but no start.

When I jumped the solenoid and it started, yes the lights all worked, headlights, running, turn, 4 way flasher, did not think to check brake. Also the fuel gauge and the temp. gauge both worked.
feeling better already

Damin69-------I have checked all the fuses that I have been able to locate. There are two coming off the battery and I think there were about five in a fuse panel beside the battery box. All of these I pulled and replaced. It continues to perform as usual. Nothing Thanks, Scooterless

I have a scooter that is getting on my last nerve. Its a 2008 sunl sl250-22 YY250T engine. 128 total miles. I went to start it about two weeks ago, turned the switch on, checked the kill switch, pulled the brake lever, pushed the start switch--------Nothing but silence, no solenoid click, just the birds singing, sun shining, 82 degrees, fishing hole waiting and me. I got past the first wave of shock, started to think about what might be wrong, my first mistake ( of the morning). So I decided that it must be a bad ign. switch, put new on in--you guessed it, no change, just more of the same nothing. Jumped across solenoid, started right up. Checked everything while it was running, had everything except Horn and Kill Switch. I did some more thinking, (another mistake) replaced the right hand control, you got it, nothing changed, birds still singing, temp. in the med 80's, fishing hole still waiting and me. Well I started thinking, CDI , rushed to the local scooter shop, (local meaning 90 miles round trip) purchased a CDI that the salesman and mechanic ( same person) said would work. Got back, put that trouble maker in, turned the ign. switch on, surprise---just smoke from the new CDI. About this time I started to thinking-----and here I am looking for help from anyone kind enough to give it. The birds are still singing, temp.85 degrees and the fishing hole is still waiting, I hope. Scooterless eastern, NC
