Well, I installed, or tried to install new starter/fuel cutoff switch, right hand switch with mirror attachment first. It was wrong, only had 3 wires. I tried in vain to switch old guts to new housing, won't start. Got new ones coming. Hopefully by friday. I installed spark plug wire. I'm installing spark plug, soon, & cdi I just got in if it's correct one. It probably isn't. Lol once I have new switch installed I'll report process or lack of it.

Ok, I've received spark plug wire, & start/cutoff combo today. I'm installing tomorrow. Hopefully that fixes problem of sputtering bogging down, etc... Wish me luck.

I have the failed plug wire coming & the cdi. I am starting with the plug write as I know it's bad. Got the sound of back during still. That doesn't go away. It's always there.

Ok, a bit more info. I have noticed that when it does the bogging down, dieing, I can get it started, & if I can really open it up it makes stalling, bogging & dieing go away

So I am right this sputtering was simply the spark plug, sparking to engine?

Ok, the problem became obvious once I tried to do compression test. Got the thing nice & hot, had oil, got to taking spark plug out, & the plastic cover that goes between plug & rubber protector. Also the compression tools at auto parts stores don't fit scooter's spark plug whole.

You need to run a hot and wet compression check...
Why, Mistuh SPROCKET!!
So Seanstr, no header pipe at all for 300 miles? Rich
What does hot and wet compression check mean? I don't have a compression checking tool.

Ok, it still starts,& when I just start it, runs normal, then ay some point the engine starts to bog down, sputter, & feels like it's missing. It then dies. I pull over, it fires right back up. There is no power. It then dies if I give it throttle. I somehow finesse it, after several re-starts, goes, sometimes normal, other times the sputtering & dieing. Yes, the weird back pressure popping is still there, but very muffled as muffler is back on. Like I said I adjusted valves, but it didn't help. Something else is wrong.

I didn't notice it was wrong. Should have asked here. So, it acts like the electrical isn't working half the time. Doesn't do it all the time. Just sometimes
