Thanks for the info. widehide, Ill try playing around with the remote alarm system to see if maybe I accidentally "confused" it. I just hope the wife can tolerate all the alarm chirps in the process.

I thought maybe a fuse too, but would it still run by pushing the remote start button? If I push the remote starter the bike runs like normal. If I turn the key I get nothing. I'm thinking it's either the alarm system, or the ignition switch. I guess I'll start the tear down tomorrow.

Hey guys, I just went out to start my Roketa MC-54-250B and when I put the key in and turn it I've got nothing happening. No lights on the gauges, no starter button, NOTHING. If I start it with the remote starter it starts fine. What could this be? A blown fuse? A bad ignition switch? I'm open to suggestions BEFORE I start tearing things apart. Thanks in advance to all that respond.

The "oven incident" is a long story. Let's just say the wife doesn't understand the difference between powder coating and painting so she's outlawed both. She says the oven is for baking food not parts.

Right now the wife doesn't seem too interested in "Her" lil blue scoot. I think it may have somethin' to do with the fact that it's blue with flamin' skulls, and not too girly looking. I think I'm going to have to paint it something a little more feminine or she's gonna lose interest completely. I'll probably look into lowering the front forks like you suggested and maybe modifying the seat a little too. I just have to pin the wife down on a color scheme that's acceptable to her, then get to wrenching. I better hurry though winter is coming up fast and that will put an end to my paintin' till spring . The wife wont let me paint in the house anymore since the last "incident" with the oven, I've been banished to the garage. ;D

Thanks for the info jake, I guess it's time for me to discuss options with the "Little Mrs." so she can tell me just how much moddin' she'll let me do to her scoot. Lowered scoots do look COOOOOL .

Shhhhhhh jrryan, don't tell my wife the 250 is lower. She'll want me to trade scooters and I've gotten comfortable with the added leg room. I appreciate all the feedback guys, and I think getting another seat and modifying it may solve my problem. I'll have two seats (his and her's) if I decide to sell it later. Thanks guys. Problem solved. Now I just have to convince the wife that it was her idea, and she'll be on-board to spending the extra money on another seat. Wish me luck.

Thanks for the suggestions guys, but I think I'm stuck lowering the scoot. You see the wife doesn't like the shoes, her exact words were..."I'm not wearing those ugly shoes!!!" I'm concerned that if I lower the seat it will be uncomfortable, and hinder my ability to sell it in the future when my wife loses interest. I think lowering the forks and rear shocks, though harder, will make the bike more custom looking and may help when selling it later. So, anyone got experience with lowering a scooter's suspension? Again any help is greatly appreciated. ;D

Thanks for the info runnningslow. I'll look into the new shock mounts, but I don't think they will be enough to do the job. Short of asking my wife to gain 500lbs so she can bottom out the suspension I think my only other option is to cut the forks. Anyone have an idea as to what all is involved? I'm pretty good at mechanical things and believe with a little knowledge I can handle the job.

Hey guys I need your help. You see I made my wife a deal. I told her she could have my 2009 Lifan 150cc scooter if I could buy a 2008 Roketa MC-54-250B. My wife is new to riding, and when I started teaching her we found out the darn thing is too tall. Now I figure I've got a few choices. Sell her scooter and buy her a Trike, lower her scooter, or break both her legs and have'em surgically stretched. I don't really have the funds for a Trike right now, and she's a little hesitant about the surgery, so I guess it's lower the scoot. Anyone have a clue about the best way to do this? Should I shave down the seat? Lower the front forks? Let the air out of both tires and tell her to ride on the rims? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Nadine is a sharp looking truck, jazzfreedom. I like the color. What happened with the scoot? Did they run out of yellow? I thought about painting the scoots yellow to match Nadine, but I already painted the wife's Fiero yellow to match. I'm afraid my friends and family will think I've gone crazy.

Here is a picture of my wife's scooter. I gave it to her so she would let me get a bigger one. My wife has a 2009 Lifan 150, I have a 2008 Roketa MC 250 B.
