Ok so i have another thread on here about my scooter shaking at 35mph. After some research and some very helpful members from the forums, I believe that I am missing a bushing or spacer on the rear axle. Does anyone else have this model a 2012? Just wondering if anyone has taken off the rear wheel and knows if there are supposed to be spacers and where they're located on either or both side of wheel maybe the length. My wheel is too far to the left so something is missing. Taking it apart tomorrow and would like something to compare to.... Even if you could just take some pics of the rear wheel and axle so I can see what its supposed to look like.... thanks

Yes, don't ride it until ou get it fixed..I THINK you are missing bushing on the rear axle and since you say you felt the wheel SHIFT that sort of confirms it...You may not need a new wheel, but you need to have it looked at and compare with the same make, model and year... I think someone changed the tire or brakes on that and never assembled it right.. I'm taking it apart tomorrow and taking pictures, and calling Tao Tao in a little bit they're at lunch now. But try to see how it's all put together... and by bushing do you mean spacer?

Picture 2 ..that is not right..the wheel needs to shift to the right..the first video shows this..compare the wheel to the fender...it needs to shift right. I still think the wheel needs to be replaced..they look like pressed steel crap... how do I get it to shift to the right? is there supposed to be a spacer on the other side? no cause the brakes are there.... or maybe the wheel nut needs tightened? I tried with just a wrench and it's pretty tight. but maybe I need an impact to tighten it more seems like that would be the only way that it would shift is if it were loose and maybe bring the shaft closer to the swing arm.... I dunno.... I did notice that the fender was off before I looked at your post but thought it was just the fender, but I just looked again and both the wheel fender and the license plate fender (mud flap, whatever) is off.... I'm just getting discouraged and thinking that it's going to be something way expensive to fix and not worth doing.... I don't even want to ride it now.... Earlier I was riding it and thought that I felt the wheel shift and the shaking went away... so I decided I'm not going to ride it anymore until I figure out what this is.... Yes I was riding it like this, it's my only means of transportation right now, but now I'm going to have to try to find another way..... and the wheel that I'm getting is the exact wheel from the dealer....

Exactly...it needs to be taken apart and look to see what is happening...it just looks weird... it's getting taken apart sometime this week whenever it drops below 100 degrees out. what exactly looks weird on it? the spaces itself? could someone post a picture or video of what everything is supposed to look like.?

The wheel doesn't look to be running true on the axle, there also appears to be a spacer missing, between the swing arm bearing extension and the wheel..usually it is just a steel bushing... There is a steel spacer in there if you look in the 2nd video, that's what I have the camera focused on, or are you talking about something else... and yeah I'm thinking it's the wheel as well and can't seem to find one anywhere for my price range there is a TAO TAO dealer about a half hour from me, Im just going to take it there and they can get the wheel and install it with new bearings and everything for $150.

also this new scooter I got is making like a ticking noise when I accelerate, it did it to my other scooter that I just sold too, same exact motor xy157qmj gy6. I posted a video on scootdawg forum and someone that is really knowledgeable on there said that it sounded like the rollers when roll out. It doesn't sound like valves chattering or anything and it runs great, Will do it only wen accelerating, if I get to say 35mph and hold it, the noise goes away but if I twist the throttle some more it comes back until a maintain a steady speed, that's what has me thinking it's the rollers and not a valve. If it were the valve it would do it all the time even if I were at a steady speed. Motor only has 420 miles on it.

do you know what the swing arm is ? If the spacer is wobleing then the wheel is not tight enough or the spacer did not seat properly . Again you need to take it apart and inspect all parts . Shoot another video so I can see too . Ruck we are here to help no shame if your unsure of anything all you need to do is ask . Help us help you!!!! John yes I do know what the swing arm is. I'm taking it apart sometime this week so I can figure out exactly what it is. when I take it apart I will take video of everything so you guys can help me diagnose. thanks.

there is a bearing inside the case Ithink Bashin's 3rd pic down . and the other bearing is in the swing arm . Have you had the rear wheel off the scooter recently ? The spacers press on the race of the bearing in the swing arm . John no it's a new scooter has 400 miles on it. I bought it used so no warranty and I didn't notice it on the test ride or anything...

remove the wheel and inspect everything . the spacer should spin with the wheel . John the spacer does move with the wheel, but if you look in the video, it looks like the spacer is wobbling like the axle is bent.... Does the wheel itself have bearings? because it is squeaking in the wheel somewhere I'm guessing from being chinese and them not putting enough bearing grease on it...

alright cool.... How common is it for a rear axle to bend? I was looking at it today and it kind of looked like it was bent but then again I think it might have been the tire moving playing tricks on me.... I have one video from the rear of the bike while tire is moving, I don't think anything is going to be able to fix but a new rim and tire. I will take a video looking at the axle... I know how to take off the rear tire, but it has a rear shock on that side with the swing arm, how do I get that off, the tire is making a squeak/creak so I need to grease the bearings on the rear wheel... here's the video from behind.
and another video to see the spacer on axle.
I was thinking the wheel is just bent because you can hear squeaking/creaking coming from the bearings, but that might be just because they weren't greased well enough. But if you look closely you can see the spacer move just a little bit (I think) maybe it just looks like it because the center of the wheels moves. I don't know but any help would be appreciated. If it is the axle, wheel or both I know how to get the rear wheel off, but how do I get the axle off and where can I get a new one?
