Thank you for the warm welcome fellas. I'll be sure to ask a lot of questions, count on it. I still don't much care for the blue but I figure if I take off the decals and paint the rear section blue I can maybe live with it, lol.

I'm a novice but how about putting a clearcoat over the fresh paint? That might keep it from fading.

This is a really cool build. Thumbs way up. Where did you get your intake tubes at? I'm having problems with the crossbar getting in my way and I wanted to bring it under and out to the side.

I just may have to do that, thanks for all the info. I have to say, upgrading the scooter seems a lot easier and cheaper then upgrading my car, lol.

i took mine to the shop and had them mounted for $10..funny thing about the rear wheel is i converted to disc so it was no issue. I can tell you that i left the old brake shoes under there and they fit with no issues. Im not sure why they (say) can only be used on rear disc. All springs and adjuster bolts are still in place. ! Few of the motorcycle shops I visited wanted to charge an arm and a leg, though I haven't tried the scooter shop yet though. I did find some videos here that show how to change a tire but I haven't watched them yet. I'm not familiar enough with the scooter systems yet to figure out if those wheels would work, I just go by description. How hard and expensive was it to convert to disc rear? I got to looking around ebay and all I could find so far was wheels that look like mine with rear drum.

I just looked at them. I really like them, but they say they are for rear disc. I don't have rear disc.

I'll have to check those out, thanks for the heads up. Do you have any tips on how to change them out besides taking them to a shop?

That looks killer. I wish I could do something like that but I think the wheel color is holding me back. I would like a chrome or polished set instead of blue. Blue doesn't go with much.

i just painted my bike with Dupli-Color spray cans i had some places that had tho be sanded down to bare plastic so i used some primer on those and many light coats of paint later here is the result I know this is an old thread but this looks really good. Is the whole thing repainted or just certain sections?

Hello all. I'm new to the board as well as scooters in general. I came on this board due to a recommendation of a friend on another scooter board to ask for some help from Alleyoop, who by the way is a tremendous help. ;D I bought a 2008 Roketa with 400 miles from a friend for $300 a few months ago with the intention of riding it to and from a prospective job I was going to get. Due to circumstances beyond my control I didn't get the job but I really like the scooter anyway. I can't really ride it to my new job (not yet anyway) because I'm gutless taking it above 30 MPH and it's too far, lol. So since the weather is changing and it's sitting in my garage I'm taking a bit of time to fix some issues (former owner let it sit for a year or so) and upgrading others. Thanks to reading some threads on this board I'm really looking forward to working on it and possibly modifying it in the future. Even more then my project car, which for me is pretty strange, lol. I'm going to be reading a lot and asking a lot of questions so thank you in advance for any advice you can give. ;D One of the former owners laid it down on the right side. It's going to need some work, and I'm thinking of changing the color. I'm not to particular to the color blue. I like being able to park this thing anywhere.

That looks really cool and I'm digging the saddle bags. Where did you get them at?
