The garage guy must smoke something, 99% do not melt they just go south internally. But anywhos, check the fuse if you have no power what so ever when you turn on the key. The fuse is on the red wire coming off the positive terminal of the battery. Now if it is a TUBE type fuse they may look good but are bad where you cannot see the break on either end of it. If you have a Light tester or volt meter you can test if VOLTAGE is getting from one end of the fuse to the other. AND TEST EACH END SEPARATELY many touch both sides at once and that is the wrong way to test if juice is getting from one side through the fuse to the other side. Alleyoop power is getting through the fuse as engine is trying to start, i think it could be what you was saying earlier with regards to the stator and pick up. going to test that and see if it defo that and if so il order a new one, seen some quite ok pricewise on ebay.

Is your CDI DC or AC. If DC check turn the key on check the bottom wire on the 2 plug CDI it should read 12v. If AC then it has to be your PICKUP COIL or STATOR, did you put on a new CDI to or just a new coil. Alleyoop my cdi is ac, no i never put a new cdi on as the guy at garage said it starts to melt in places if your cdi is goin bad. all ive changed is spark plug, coil and ht lead.

Riding home did you happen to hit a hole or big bump or something? 1. Do your lights work. 2. Is your killswitch in the run position. 3. Did you check your FUSE on the red wire coming off the battery. 4. Check the 2 wires going to the COIL. 5. Check the plugs going to your CDI they may be loose or not all the way on. Alleyoop hi yes there was some as they were laying new road surface. 1. lights work fine 2. yes 3. yes fuse is fine, engine turns over just no spark 4.2 wires on coil fitted on fine. no power getting to them either. 5. all wires connected to cdi securely

see if you get resistance when you push the kickstarter . no power on the black/red sounds like the stator , where did you take the measurement . Was it at the cdi or the stator plug ? Where do you live Kev ? John my kickstart is broke. i measured it at the cdi, i live in uk but this site seemed the best to look at answers.

Hi, I have a jinlun jl125t 10 scooter and have recently had the problem of no spark. I changed the coil and ht and also the spark plug, I checked with a meter to the ac ignition power red/black wire and it read at 0. does anyone know what the problem could be. Thanks
