Oh, and i forgot to mention, every time I go to start it, it acts like the fuel has run away from the carb. Doesnt matter how long it has ran. 5 minutes or an hour, it always acts like the fuel has drained out of the carb. Not sure if that helps. Thanks again.

Hey guys, My 260cc Linhai stumbles at about half throttle in neutral as well as in gear. I've adjusted the air/fuel out to 2 1/2 turns and played with it, but it doesnt seem to actually do anything unless I turn it nearly a whole turn either direction. Any idea how to fix the stumbling problem?

Not sure how to get it to TDC since its a centrifugal clutch. Do I need to drain the oil and open the side of the crank case?

Ok, I will readjust in the morning, but wouldnt that make the chattering worse? And could that be the 1/4 throttle issue?

Ok guys. We're getting closer. Ive adjusted the valves and put in a new plug. Ive got it idling great. Ive got it to where it will run full throttle on the stand. But if I try to run 1/4 throttle it starts chugging. When I try to ride it in low gear, it does ok. But in high gear it doesnt want to go at all when I try to give it throttle. Obviously High gear means more load on the engine. Timing came to mind but Im going to ask you, the experts on these, your opinions. Oh, I adjusted the valves to .02 intake and .03 exhaust. I think thats a bit loose still as I am now hearing the rocker arms chattering. We're getting closer! Thanks for all the help!

Ok, Ive cleaned the diaphragm and the Pilot out real good and gave the carb a good cleaning again. Ive got it idling fairly well, and it will run with a full open throttle. Its the mid range that it spits and sputters in now. Im going to get some feeler guages tomorrow and adjust the vavles to see if that helps. I did notice that I can hear a little bit of a backfire when running full open throttle so thats why Im adjusting the valves. I do have another question though. My fuel filter isnt filling up with fuel for some reason now that its been emptied when I cleaned the carb. Do I need to fill it manually?
Thanks again guys.

Thanks for the input gentlemen (ladies?). I didnt know that about the diaphram and I was wondering what the hell those little holes by the butterfly were. LOL I learned two important things today. Im off to check both of those and see what's what. Question though. If the diaphragm is bad, can it be replaced or do I have to get a new carb?

Nobody has any ideas at all? I though for sure someone here would have a clue. Ive done some more cleaning/adjusting/inspecting and Ive got it to where it will idle but loads up on fuel when I crack the throttle. I checked the float and it appears to be in good working order. Does not appear that there is any fuel in the float itself. Im wondering if maybe the float needle needs adjusted because it doesnt close all the way?

I have the 07 Talon 260 with the Linhai engine. It just suddenly started acting like it is getting overloaded with fuel and doesn't run at anything over idle while under a load. When sitting in neutral, it screams like a banshee.
What Ive done: Cleaned the Carb twice (except for the diaphragm on top, don't know if there is anything in there I could screw up by taking the top off).
Removed the air cleaner (intending to replace)
Checked the plug (needs replaced, but still has good spark)
Adjusted the lean/rich screw.
Cleaned the pump.
Checked fuel filter.
Sprayed Carb Cleaner on the vacuum lines, No change in idle.
Cleaned the Auto Choke.
I still have not found the problem. I am not ruling out anything yet though so if you have an idea, throw it at me.
The thing acts like it is overloaded on fuel or maybe like the choke is sticking causing it to not get enough fuel. Its hard to tell. After each time I clean the carb, the thing runs great for the first 5 minutes (just enough time for the choke to shut off, which leads me to believe it isn't sticking at all). Then it goes right back to not wanting to run at anything over idle. It spits and sputters and dies if I don't keep pumping the hell out of the throttle. I'm at a loss. I need some experts! ;D
