Well I tore it down got all the bodywork off of it so I can actually see everything. Another individual suggested a possible fuel filter replacement. I can see all the ignition components and pulled the spark plug because I thought while it is apart always good to replace that, my friend wanted it replaced anyway. I ran out of light for now but will tear into it again tomorrow. My big question is if the valves needed adjusted, would it run fine and then shut off and not start again? I will hit all the ignition components tomorrow, from what I could see they look clean, but not a large amount of light to see them by, flashlight just doesn't a clear picture. Anyway I thank you for your advice KZ1000st and I will certainly check into what you mentioned. Greatly appreciated.

I don't own this I am just attempting to help a friend out. They bought a 2011 Roketa 250cc scooter, I believe it is the 54 model. We live in Florida and get a lot of rain during the winter months. First time there was an issue with the scooter it had been caught in the rain. Ran badly and attributed that to the CDI possibly getting wet. Left it dry out a couple of days and no more issues. Now we have run into a second problem. Scooter quit running the other night on the way home. Again it had been caught in the rain. Left it sit overnight, put a new battery in it, started and and made it almost home before it quit running. It will run great, but then suddenly at a stop light or stop sign it will shut off and not start again. Will just crank but will not fire. Ended up being close enough we pushed it home and it is sitting in the garage. But I want to get some ideas before I tear into it. I am reading several posts about valve adjustments. We already know it isn't the battery because that is brand new. I am thinking possibly CDI, or another part of the ignition possibly being bad or going bad. Or possibly just an issue with electronics getting wet and having to dry out. Any advice on what direction to look in, would be greatly appreciated. This is my friends only transportation to work so the issue needs to be identified and dealt with. I personally don't care for the scooters myself, but she enjoys riding it. So I want it to be dependable for her. Attachments:
