It does sound different in the mid range. I finished it yesterday and I didn't have time to fully test it. I will make a video soon

My scooter looks the same. It is a 2007 year model. The only problems I had was maintenance - Spark plug and throttle cable, headlight bulbs. It was working with the old spark plug, but i replaced it with a new one this spring. The throttle cable was fine last year, but after i took the scooter out of the basement this year, the cable was frozen. I have over 3000 miles on it and for all this years I replaced the oil only 2 - 3 times. Couple of years ago I even left it all winter out on the snow with just a tarp cover. I charged the battery and it started right up. I am beating on my scooter a lot, but it is still ruining good - I didn't expect it to last that long

Thank You Rich, it is working now. My homemade intake looks like this: Installed for testing: To the air box. I don't know what the small hose going from the air-box to somewhere is for. For now I will keep it

Hi all, I fitted my Chinese 50cc scooter with a homemade cold air intake (ram air?). I wanted to get your guys opinion. Basically I drilled a large hole behind the front tire in to the plastic shield. Then a ran a pipe from the front opening directly to the air box. I noticed a change of the engine sound in mid speed range. For now I will run the scooter like this, but when my new larger carb jets arrive, I will up-jet and remove the air box completely.
