I've recently aquired a scooter with no floorboard or "belly pan"
I'm having a heck of a time finding any on line due to the model being discontinued.
I could probably fabricate something out of some kind plastic or maybe fiberglass.
Has anyone have experience with this?

Fiberglass is not all that hard to work with. You do need power tools or a huge amount of energy to finish it off. For some thing as a floor board either fiber matt or else a few layers of cloth. You have to make some sort of mold to hold it while it is wet. Foam works as well as card board and many other disposable materials. Just one glass "hair" not removed will cut the crap out of you.
The there are other materials as sheet aluminum, steel etc.

If you have a local metal dealer check for some aluminum diamond plate, that stuff looks sharp.

I'm looking around and I see some similar bikes. The honda sh150i had a similar design. I wonder if I can adapt some of the plastics to fit my bike.
All I need is the floorboard and plastic under it

In that case be prepared for the bill! I have bought Honda plastic in the past and they sure think it is like gold. A lot of honda parts are that way. I can get the belly pan off eBay for 12 bucks with free shipping but the floorboard is 44 bucks. |
