Hello all. After first compression test I got to 150psi. Second test I added a tiny amount of oil in through spark plug hole and got to 190-210psi. Also posted is the picture of the engine code. Please any input on what's going on will help.

Couple of questions, first why do I need to electric start on a compression test? Wouldn't the pressure build in the engine regardless to a point where the engine can't hold anymore? Secondly if I open to full throttle when starting i will flood my engine and carb. How does that make any sense that I have to use electric start which builds pressure similar to kickstart and I have to keep the throttle open? Just looking for some explanation here... Thanks!

Well...... The issue was the wrong plug on why the tip was white. Secondly, she sounds like she's running fine and hitting high rpm's but the performance (speed and quickness) are still not there. So your saying that I have to electric start for 5 seconds to get the reading? Wish small engine and scooter shops didn't charge an arm and a leg to work on these things.

So my compression test when kick starting went well above 150+ psi. When it reached 150, definitely saw slower increase in psi. Also, the darn people at pep boys gave me a different plug than my usual. Took out for compression test and after one day is white on top (part in engine).

It's a Kymco version of a GY6. Don't worry about the number, just don't put Seafoam down the plug hole anymore young man! Don't make me come to your house! It would be ugly. Rich Thanks so much rich. However it still isnlackin a little speed that was present before. Used to top out at 40 on flats now maybe 27.... Any input to as why this could be happening?

He all, THE SPARK PLUG WAS SNAPPED. I didn't even notice that I could free spin the top and bottom of the spark plug which is no bueno. I replaced with a nice chanpion plug and definitely see my power returning. Still haven't run compression test but it appears to be back to normal and I have a new tool to use when my subuaru give me trouble! Still looking to see what type of engine I have though. Posted number last night.... Thanks scootdoc!

The number was SD10E. Also, the spark plug coil rattled so I took plug out, put it in and now it doesn't start. Compression test in am, too much frustration for one day. Scootdoc members, thank you so much!

ALLEYOOP, I apologize, but I said that I was not by my scooter at the moment. Sorry that I cannot give you information as fast as you need it. So you're telling me, Kymco is lying on their site when they describe engine measurements? I find this hard to believe as numerous people would run into errors fixing their scoots. Maybe rich has the patience that ALLEYOOP does not. Honestly ALLEYOOP there are 100's of sites that told me what you said when i researched days ago. If is saw anything that resembled either combo this question would'nt be asked as Iwould understand I have a GY6 in literally 3 seconds upon looking. Maybe when I take the picture of the engine you can understand the issue I am running into.

I am running a compression test with haqndheld later and will also post pic of engine number. The engine has the same specs as the Kymco Agility if that helps.

I read it on a website that went over it step by step to remove carbon from the engine, BASHAN. in regards to ALLEYOOP, I dont have a copper washer or seal for that. Also ALLEYOOP, my engine doesnt have that 139 code on it, it has different numbers and letters. I need a tutorial on how to replace the rings if this seems to be the issue... Thanks and keep up the suggestions on this post please!

I honestly am not sitting in front of it, but I did this investigation and my number that is 1p39qmb ends in an E, I remember that and it began with an S. I just have no idea now where I can find parts for this scooter. Also, yes that is where the oil was leaking. That bolt is like black from all the oil.

Thanks for answering so quick! I ran the engine till hot, then removed plug, put in about 2 cap fulls put plug back on, waited 15min then revved until smoke was no more. I did decrease the amount of trans fluid after riding the 8 miles on the overfilled transmission to no avail. I then checked plug, bone dry. The air filter was also bone dry and didn't smell of the trans fluid. However, this am I found a leak of some oil coming from a bolt on the left of the engine id code. It is black oil and the bolt is fairly large. It just is NOT accelerating and achieving top speed anymore and this all happened after the changes I made. ALLLLSSSOOO if it matters, when i entered the seafoam and tried to start after 15 min, it wouldn't kick over as if something was blocking it. I opened the plug up, tried again and got some backlash of seafoam out of the hole. I really want my baby running again. Also, does anyone know what kind of engine this thing has? people say GY6 but the engine code doesn't match up with the traditional GY6. Thanks!
