Thanks Alleyoop and Bashan,
Im getting weird readings with two different multimeters when checking battery, lots of fluctuations and can not get a solid number, could be cheap multimeters.
What I did was unhook the battery and checked for continuity. Circuit was closed when checking this way so there was definitely a draw on the battery. I started to unplug connectors and circuit finally was open when I unplugged the alarm, so in my case the culprit was a short in the alarm. Using your advice Alleyoop, I bypassed the alarm. With the Tank's wiring harness, there are two black with white striped wires and these were the ones that need to be jumped.
Everything seems to be working with exception of the head light being off until you turn it on. Prior to this it was always running.

Hello,
I recently picked up an 08 slight basket case tank 150cc for 200bucks. After fixing a bunch of stuff on it including replacing a lower steering bearing that the PO had misplaced, it is now solid with the exception a draining battery. Battery is a new Yuasa and will discharge while hooked up in about two days.
Scooter will keep running just fine with the battery disconnected. I took out the alarm due to hearing that that is a possible problem with battery drains. I just noticed that the scooter starts without the key in and also with the plug for the ignition key completely unplugged. Do the alarms need to be plugged in for the key switch to actually function? Any ideas on where to start looking for the battery drain problem.
Thanks in advance, I enjoy reading what you all have to say.
