Well the carb made it today,,,,,fabbed up a quick manifold extension 1.25 inches a short rubber boot and it's a go!!!!!! fired right up a small idle adjustment and it purrs like a kitten,,very small midrange stumble that i think will be taken care of with raising the needle a notch ,,man i'll tell you guys why anyone would run a cv carb over a slide carb is beyond me,,,i didn't go with with the tm series because of it being too tall so i went with the very tried and true vm series 28mm and man what a difference!!!!! i could not be more pleased,,,for less than 1/4th of the cost of the cost of the replacement from the betty crocker boys at the dealer,,,,,,,,,final cost,,,,well under $80 all in and an honest 3.5 hours for the fab and install to riding

Glad to hear you got your carb. Now it's to put some miles on it. Glad to hear you like it. Hope it runs better than stock carb.

went up to the top groove on the needle,,, stumble still there so this leads me to believe the midrange jet is too fat,,as far as the slightly better top speed,,,a slide carb moves 20-30% more air than a cv carb of the same size,,,sorry no pics yet,,,maybe tomorrow if it's not 110 in the shade,,,

Well pouring thru pages and more pages of research then a short blast last nite,,, the conclusion is it's the jet needle that needs changing it has too steep of a taper I need to go a little thicker of a needle and I think it will be solved

So a very intensive but productive call from oregon resident,, carburation genius Jesse from keintec engineering,,,we measured everything,,,all the jets and needle jet were good as i assumed,,but the needle itself is the culprit,,it comes on too fast too early hence the rich midrange,,,so i go from a 4L28,,,to a 4L6 and a much slower taper
