I am now almost satisfied with my majesty. (will never be totally though) What I have done is add 1 1/2 inches of course chopped foam to the whole seat skipping the rear vertical part but put it on top of the rear horizontal last 2 inches. The rox 2" riser was installed mostly upright to just give height. I also replaced the steering bearings due to a "detent" position that developed in the straight ahead position of handle bars. Raising the seat allowed more of my upper legs and butt to have support and I ended up with a lot more leg room.
When your knee's are higher than your butt all your weight goes on one point of your butt and after 20 min of that it gets very uncomfortable. (your first instinct is to want to slide back a bunch)
For any one wanting more room I believe this is the way to go. The difference before and after is night and day.
I don't believe there is any cure for the poor rear suspension in any scooter where the rear axle is part of the motor. In the case of the majesty when the rear wheel hits a bump there is at least 250# of motor/wheel to get moving up before the shocks and springs can come onto play. john

After all the mechanical work and fiddling I'm glad to hear you're somewhat happy with it John. Enjoy.

There're always trade offs with every bike...don't you think John?. The ride is cushy and the handling suffers. You engineer a bunch of suspension components in to smooth the ride and then it's heavy. Just reach a compromise and go on. Every bike I've ever ridden could have something negative to say about it. then you buy a bmw and it's all better,,,,just goofin on you,,,,sounds like you got a pretty good handle on it ,,,but a real nice shock setup in the rear can make all the difference to the ride and handling

I agree with bashan there is something that people are always not going to like about there ride. Glad you to hear converting your seat has helped with comfort. There must be a good bit of foam in there if your cutting it out of there. I'm sorry added foam to the seat. Did you have to purchase more seat covering? To perform this task.
Glad to hear the scooter is growing on you I believe Yamaha makes a good machine. Surprised your stearing bearings went.

I probably should have bought a new cover but there was about an inch folded under where the staples were so I took a heat gun and made it fit. Now if I could get rid of the damn hump and make the back end ride right I might be happy. My chevy malibu has less unsprung weight on any one of the four wheels than a majesty has on its rear. john

Yeah a car is far more conferable your right. But you don't get the wind like a bike. Nice problem solving on the seat if it covers it you've got it covered. Nice job.
