Oooooooooo I just had a thought maybe I can cap off that spigot on the intake manifold and plumb in a small 12v vacuum pump to run the tap,,,,,a little on the rube Goldberg side for me BUT HEY,,, it could happen
I am all about the Rube machinations, I love 'em. I've even thought of that very thing many times. If the vacuum source on engines is a problem, make your own consistent vacuum source! Think different! I went so far once to enquire about peristaltic oil pumps for a cascade oil cooler and was treated with a "WHAT!?" from the company's salesman. It wasn't "medical" so it wasn't "applicable". Now how am I going to get this neutron flux powered craft off of the Earth..?..but I've said too much. Vacuum is vacuum right Pedro? It all sucks. Rich
A peruse of ebay this morning and found 4 or 5 very small vacuum pumps that weigh only ounces ,,,and pull a little better than an atmosphere of pressure so i think that's good,,,cheap too!!!!! well under $20 delivered,,,,and the spigot size is correct so it's a win!!!! and for the test i'm disconnecting the vac line to the engine,, cap off the manifold and run a long line that i can put in under my jacket and suck on when i do my duplication run,,,i'm sure the problem will not be there and then i'll order the pump,,,at my studio now had to do the front end of my loves,4x4,,,one hour and twenty minutes for a full brake change,,fluids and general inspection to make sure everything is kosher,,,,,i don't dare get her a car,,,she'd tear that thing up in a week,,,,,
The wife tough on the vehicles is she? Mine too. I got in it the other day to gas it up and the wheel was pulling like crazy off to the right. I get to the station and there's 10 PSI in the right front. I got back to the house and said "didn't you think the car was driving kinda funny!?" She says "no, it seemed OK to me." The thing would have to be in flames with the hood exploding before she'd notice anything....sheeesh. Rich
actually i thought myself a little funny after i stated that and thought you'd chime in ,, so what i did was pulled the line depressurized it and clamped it off with a set of hemostats ,,,it holds so i didn't have to go through the BS of the long line ,,,still has the problem so i'm abandoning the vm,,,and waiting for the tm from jesse,,,on the dr350 front,,,wifes car needed brakes so i called the auto parts house and by some miracle they were still open at 730pm on a holiday weekend,,,,and open today and tomorrow wow!!!,,,so i ran there and grabbed some dinner too and flew home ,,i ran out of gas on the way so i hit reserve and relit it and off i went,,,now here's the kicker,,,i've noticed lately that my old trusty steed's mileage has dropped about 15-20 mpg,,,and i also noticed that the exhaust that was a nice deep tan is now black ,,,this morning was mamasans brake job so i didn't ride,,i got back home and decided that it's brake job time on the dr,,,had a set i bought and put aside for like now when i needed them,,,tear it apart THE STUPID MOTHER FUKERS PUT THE FRICTION MATERIAL ON THE WRONG SIDE OF THE METAL BACKING PLATES,,,,so i call the local suzuki dealer,,,,,,,,,closed till tuesday,,,,so i call the local powersports place,,,another miracle of miracles they are open,,,,and they have the pads,,,,so a kawi shop has suzi parts!!!!!!so i put that to bed ,,,went to start the dr i get nothing zip goose egg nada,,,no fire,,,so i tear it all down,,carb is cleaner than your bedroom,,,so again i call the local bike shop get new hose (clear this time so i can see whats going on),,,turns out the vac valve on this bike has a hole in the diaphragm and it's pulling fuel into the vac line!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WOW WHAT A DAY
AND,,,,,,of course the new oem valve is over $100 and thats on ebay i can only imagine what it costs at the dealers counter,,,so i looked for rebuild kits and got an actual oem suzi kit for under $30,,,
Oooooh, no wonder it was black! I kinda freaked, I was thinking oil. Of the two maladies I'll take the gas prob. Soooo, is that why it was running good cold? Kind of a permanently on megachoke? It's crap like the friction material on the wrong side that just makes me paranoid all the time anymore. Everybody has the rectocranial insertion syndrome, nobody pays attention, nobody cares. Grrrr.
,,,,so i call the local suzuki dealer,,,,,,,,,closed till tuesday,,,,so i call the local powersports place,,,another miracle of miracles they are open,,,,and they have the pads,,,,so a kawi shop has suzi parts!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WOW WHAT A DAY
kaw + suz = same parent company. I hear many parts have same part number for same part on the others bike.
