I was just wondering the affects of up jetting? If I did would I get better acceleration ? Better climbing up hill? I have a 2008 wildfire r8.

Yes, it helps. Get a kit that has multiple jets because you're going to be doing a lot of trial and error. There are no hard and fast rules for upjetting. The stock 150 is around 104 and the kits go up to 125 or above. I found that 115 was as high as I could get without it running weird at this or that RPM, but other guys have got higher. Here's the deal, the bigger the jet, the more air it needs...BUT just opening up the air filter and exhaust doesn't cut it. You have to have a balance of jet...air flow...and enough exhaust back pressure. The performance parts salesmen make a good living off of hawking high flow components like it's an easy bolt on...nope. It takes a lot of time and tweaking. Monster GY6 specializes in high performance 150s. Stephan once told me he cranked his GY6 up to the point he was sailing past 70MPH. Knowing him, I don't doubt it. Personally, I don't want to go 70 on a GY6. But it gets expensive real quick, you can spend hundreds of dollars trying to get everything to balance. Having said that, when I was messing around with those types of things it was fun and I learned a lot. To just start out, get the jet kit and a Uni air filter. Go to like the 110 and see what it does, if it's running like crap pull the plug...if it's dark it needs more air, or less gas...if it's bare it needs less air...or more gas....gaaahd...it's starting already. Don't let me be negative bud...go for it. Rich
