He really did! One of the trips he broke down and called me while trying to fix it. He did a McGyver thing with a paper clip or some weird thing on the CDI and got it rolling again. Made it all the way home like that. Seriously...it happened. Rich

Hey I forgot about that one! Man it was raining like a cow peeing on a rock and I was at the Ark/Ok border, nothing in site to get under and she started sputtering, thought oh man I got a wet scooter, not now!
I found a little place to kind of get under some trees and my thought was I'll just see if the connection to the CDI is wet, can't even tell you why I thought that. It's right under the seat and when I eased it out of it's pocket the black wire had pulled partly out and I took a paper clip, pulled the pin, bent the little metal tang and locked it back in. Waited a little bit for the rain to ease up and off I went, it's never sputtered again.

The most miles I ever did on my scooter was about 70 a tank of gas it took a while. Some of these guys and girls are real road warriors.

Just goes to show it is the rider not the scooter that is the limit on how far in one trip.
Scooters are not the most comfortable ride out there for sure. And when the scooter first arrived on the scene at least 80 years ago, they were for short runs that you could ride in a business suite or a dress.

No long rides; just 36 miles round trip to and from work each day. Average 40-60 mph.
