I own a Honda Big Ruckus it is a 250 yellow beast I have had it up to 60 MPH ONLY ONCE and it is great . I traded a 17 foot Airstream to a buddy for it of course once my wife started riding with me she wanted one so we got her a 50CC throw away scooter which she put 2000 miles on . She outgrew that fast and wanted bigger so we were looking around well one Day driving home she had seen a scooter on side of highway for sale. It was a pink 150CC Wussigirl so she stopped in gave test ride and bought it rite there. I did not know anything about it till she wanted me to bring truck to pick something up . I rode it and it did ride very nice started great rode at 50 very well . I did not know till now there are no dealers for these scooters and they were made to be sold in Porto Rico , So she rode it a few times last season and winterized it battery conditioned it and this season went to start and nothing so I ended up here and got some great advice. As far as the question ...Me and wife put only 600 miles on before the snow fell and can not wait to put lots more on this season .

I owned a yellow Big Ruckus briefly. The good thing about it was that it felt more like a bike than my scooters. It certainly was an attention getter and I had more people ask me about it than most anything else I've owned.

We've gone out for maybe 100 miles round trip on one ride, we've did that quite a few times. Before it was on two 150s, then a 250 Fashion and a 150, and now on the 300 Sym and the 150. We usually go out for a 20 to 40 mile ride through the country and it takes about an hour. I routinely commute 84 miles to work and back, that's round trip. I used to do it on the Fashion and wracked up almost 10K but now I just ride the SYM, it is just too much fun, and too reliable to leave home. It's fun blowing an SUVs doors off when they think I'm "just a scooter" and disrespect me. With the Fashion, I had to prethink acceleration factors into what was going on in traffic. If you wanted around somebody it was like calculus to plan your move. It didn't happen quickly. When I rode the Kawi 1500FI to work.....nobody messed with me....ever. Put 55K on that puppy. Rich

Well geez Rich i hope no one around there can catch a bike with basically a car engine,,,and 0-100 times in the 10-11 second range,,,,it's hard to go from that to small wheels and no engine

I was going to transition to a bike but I said to myself WHY? I can get up to 75-80 on the Ruckus ((done it once WILL NOT do it again) so I do not need a bike and scooter is less expencive to fix .

You hit the go handle on Big Red and you better be hangin' on dude....the rear started spinning and the front end rose up on the shocks....as big as it was, I'm not kidding. I had a Harley engineer mod it for me and he knew what he was doing. I had a former Harley test rider service it for me once and when he delivered it he said what the hell did Mike do to that thing?! I said I don't know but he kept for a month. I had a cop chase me down 76 to Childersburg for 8 miles and he finally caught me at a red light. I honestly didn't know he was behind me.....I was...uh...occupied. In all fairness to him he was in an SUV. He was PISSED! I said "man I didn't know you were back there, I DON'T run from the law."....and I don't. He said, "I'll call your license in and if you have ONE thing on it, even a speeding ticket history, I'm writing you for reckless driving, otherwise I'm letting you go...fat chance!" It was a taunt but I smirked because I knew I'd NEVER had a speeding ticket...never...can you believe that run of luck? He came back and said "you either know somebody or are really lucky...no history." I said "both officer...both." It's true, small town Southern politics....har! I walked....well...rode. Kids...don't ride like this at home! I don't ride like that anymore....well.....as much....sometimes...well not really that often. Kinda. Rich

I don't know man, KZ seemed to think it was a really comfortable ride, he rode his some distance and it seemed to treat him well. One thing is the reliability, that would make it more enjoyable. Rich

I agree with you folks that is a really cool scooter you got there. You found a gem sounds like it gets up and goes. I have never seen one of those scooters for sale near where I live. Have a great year riding and be safe.

Forget North Conway, you know you have to take that scoot to Laconia in June! The biker guys will flip when they see it. I got more comments than you can imagine when I had mine. From everyone. It's an eye catcher.

I think the farthest I usually go with the majesty is about 1 1/2 hours....50-60 miles tops. The poor suspension just kills my back. If I wanted to go a lot further I would just get a big bike.
True,.....scooters can easily do the long haul but calling a swing arm mounted engine scooter a "touring scooter" is an oxymoron. A 50cc scooter going cross country may not be a every day occurrence but has been done a lot in the past. It's all about how much "you" can physically put up with, not the scooter. Assuming of course the scooter is kept in good condition.

408 miles one way to Dallas Texas and have done the trip 5 times on my Chinese 250B. Last time was in 2011, left on a Friday morning at 6 a.m. and got to Dallas that evening at around 4 p.m. I stopped along the way to eat, take pics and keep hydrated, when I arrived in Big D it was 106F. Left Sunday morning and hit rain halfway through the trip home which stayed with me the rest of the way.
816 miles round trip 5 times = 4080 miles.
