Another year has pasted and once again it is Memorial Day, a day to rememeber those who have gone before us and those that still remain. Today many folks will be visiting the grave sites of fallen veterans, some will have honor guards and ceromonies and some will be solice. A day of reflection and remembering. Flags at half mast as our country remembers. Please take a moment today to remember those that have pasted and those that remain.
If you come across a vet today please thank them for their service.
Thank you to all my brothers/sisters in arms, welcome home, and to those that are gone from us, You are remembered.
Jim/MSGT USAF Retired 1971-1991

Thank You all.
Tvnacman, There are still folks out there that just don't understand. One of those things you had to be a part of to really understand.

Jim Some people need to be reminded what the reason for this day is. It's to remember and honor those that were killed fighting to keep our country free. Veterans Day is to recognize our Veterans.
My uncle was killed in Normandy, in 1944. My father served in the Army Air Corps (that was before it became the Air Force) My oldest dau is a MSgt in the U. S. Air Force My Son In Law is a retired USAF MSgt My grandson is in Jr. ROTC (AF)
May God Bless every Soldier, Sailor, Marine, Airman and Coast Guardsman.
David W. Coats, MSgt. USAF Ret 1968 - 1994

I don't like going to those ceremonies. They like to shoot guns. Which is what keeps our country free (for now) and gives you the right to be a pacifist.

USAF Ret 1968 - 1994 Very true Dave, the main focus and reason for Memorial Day is to honor and remember those that have given their lives for this great country, to me it is also a time to remember and thank those that have survived and those that are still in harms way, the same goes for Veterans Day. Personally, I think about it all the time. When I see a fellow Vet or a person in uniform, no matter what I am doing I take the time to welcome them home and to thank them for their service. Thankfully, the majority of the people in the US have come full circle and are doing the same, unlike what we endured in the 60's and 70's. As Charlie Daniels said " my younger brother calls me a killer and my Daddy calls me a Vet".
