I need a muffler for an IB Cyclone 150. The one that came with mine is total garbage and i didn't realize it until i wasted a full riding season trying to fix my cyclone. The muffler rattles like someone dropped a couple large nuts in it before welding it shut. It keeps blowing the packing loose and plugging the exhaust. Does anyone know where i can find a replacement that won't drain my savings? Shally

Yea those mufflers and even the pipe is garbage on my trike it lasted 3 months then I had it welded then the inside went to crap so I ordered a whole new system $106.00 that also lastest 3 months So I said to myself, SELF you will be throwing away 106 bucks every 3 months or so, so byte the bullet.
I got a Supertrapp muffler and had a hotrod guy make me a header pipe out of good 1 1/4 pipe. I have had the muffler and pipe on since 2010 and it still looks like new. Alleyoop

If i could afford that, i would not hesitate for a minute. What i did do was remove the muffler from the pipe, (it is a slip-fit with two strong springs holding them together). Cut a large hole thru the exhaust end (there is a honeycomb baffle in there) in hopes to remove the items that are rattling. i couldn't remove the rattles, but i could see them. So I shoved some stainless steel steel-wool in there to jam the loose items and stop the rattles. it worked fine and it quieted the exhaust even more. My Cyclone is a 2012 and I believe IB had made several improvements. I'm in my 2nd summer of riding and the pipe looks fine. The outside of the muffler does too, just the inside is junk. We'll see how this season goes/ Shally

I know exactly what you have here you can see I had the ends welded, TWICE after i ordered a new one: I was not going to spend $106.00 bucks every few months. Alleyoop Then the pipe broke where it fits over the muffler.

Alley, Now that IS interesting. Your muffler after it was welded looks just like mine right from the factory. It looks as if they really did take your advise. I really hope my pipe doesn't break like yours did.
