I pulled the flywheel off today to see if maybe the stator was the cause of our no spark problems on the Hyosung. But I don't see a problem with this thing? Stator coil (MISSING PICKUP COIL?!) Stator cover/flywheel

Actually, I looked up a diagram and it looks like the pickup coil should be behind the stator. Time to go further!

Possibly those two coils on the right are the trigger mechanism. Did you test the voltage on the trigger wire? If you have current there's a trigger coil on there. But why the mounting holes? They are there for some reason and they look just like a trigger mount....Lone Ranger! Get it Plant Guy? Mount..Trigger....Lone Ranger? Old TV show...his horse (mount)...trig...You don't joke around a lot do you Potted Person?

Ah, yes, haha! I get the reference! And like I said, this stator is outputting ZERO voltage.

I'm unsure what year it is. But it is a Hyosung SF50. Here is the stator diagram I found.

I am sure the pickup coil goes in the inside in that slot with the two screws holding it. See number 9 that holds the thicker wire and the pickup coil slips over and into that slot. Alleyoop

Well we will verify that once we can get the thing off. Somebody had this thing off before and has applied LOCTITE to the screws. We can't get them out.

Use a little heat on the nut but not so much it will expand the crank threads. The flywheel must extend OVER the pickup, so if the flywheel goes far enough back to be rotating over the coil....yep....that's the pickup. Have you tried an impact? That crank is really hard to damage, the nut is more likely to trash and they are cheap.

I'm not sure if the flywheel goes back that far. We will see. Unfortunately these can't be removed with an impact, because these screws are perfectly round. You can't put an impact on something perfectly round

Really? I wasn't aware of that Mr.Pernicious Plant. I would like to test that theory out with an impact to that round cranium of yours, I think I could make it fit. I thought you were talking about the nut on the end of the crank. So it's the Allens that won't come out?

Will investigate more today.
