HEY MR THESAURUS ,,, back down off the $20 words will you please,,, us poor mortals get lost when we run into this vernacular of yours,,,,, MR. THESAURUS is kind of ambiguous in terms of who you're referencing, is it not? Although I must divulge that I fancy permeating my vocabulary upon others. It's not like I'm uprooting my words straight from a thesaurus, or anything of that nature. I promise.

The whole inner metal area is magnet. There are no individual magnets that conduct voltage, it appears.

There should be distinct spots around the out side of the flywheel that pull very strongly. These are the magnets. Now the whole surface of the flywheel will be magnetic, it's loaded with magnets and it's metal. But there should be distinct magnetic fields running perpendicular to the outside rim of the flywheelHEY MR THESAURUS ,,, back down off the $20 words will you please,,, us poor mortals get lost when we run into this vernacular of yours,,,,, Ugh.....vernacular big word.....no understand....ugh. OK, we'll use west coast speak...as if! Cyborg is so LAME! What a non Baldwin, so Grody! A total barf....what...ev-ah!! Did that get through Mr. Lexicon?! We are so cerebral aroud here. Hang on...I gotta pick my nose:

Okay guys, so this thing can't come out with clipping wires. Anyways, the thing was completely missing it's pickup coil, so that would sort of explain why there was no spark (but it doesn't explain why we got it sparking for a split second a couple times). So I'm just going to assume that this stator is shot and I'm going to need another one. I've looked quite extensively to try to find a stator with two poles like that, but I cannot find one. Can it be replaced with a generic Chinese one if I get the wiring correct? The wiring has to be snipped from the connector on the stator to remove it anyways, because the connector is too big to be removed from the stator housing.

I don't know if that flywheel would work with anything other than that stator. So, measure the shaft and see if a standard stator flywheel would fit on there. Then you'd have to mount a standard stator and a CDI and R/R to go with it. And you'd have to mount the trigger so that the timing is right. It won't be just plug and play but it can be done, a spark is a spark. Or, you could order a stator from Alpha Sports.

Hey Foliage Face, did you get the service manual yet? Here it is if you need it. That's a 2T so that would make swapping stators a little more problematic. You might want to call Matt at PFS. He has this 2T stator that looks like it might fit. Rich

So after a LONG LONG time, we finally got it running! The stator was NOT bad and it does not need a pickup coil. It ended up being a fried CDI. $82 for a Hyosung CDI later, and we have spark! It started up instantly after we put the plug back in
