Can't seem to find any info on my wildfire r8 50cc gy6 online. My question is does anyone know if I would need a 6 pole stator or an 8 pole? 8 seems to be the most popular on eBay.

The bummer on this one is you are probably going to have to open that up before you can be 100% certain of what you need.

Yeah that's king of what i figured just wasn't sure if one was for a 50cc or what. Thank you for the reply. Doesn't look all that difficult to do anyway. One question though, i have heard you need an impact gun to take flywheel off, is this necessarily true?

Sorry wasn't actually taking about that. What I meant was do I need an impact gun to take bolt off?

Ahh, well, not normally, unless they are really seized on there. Then I guess it could be an issue. Really, just go get an electric impact gun at Home Depot. It's about the most useful tool you can own anyway, and it makes short work out of stuck case bolts. (And drywall screws... wood screws... any screws and bolts you happen to come across.) Or you can use one of these: www.partsforscooters.com/202-34-Pit-Posse-Impact-DriverOnce you figure them out, these little guys work like a charm as well. I've had one in my toolbox since my first restoration 10 or so years ago and I still use it on occasion. If you hit them just right, you can get some really really stuck bolts unstuck pretty quick (or at least shear off the head trying). Matt

I use one just like that,,,now when you offroad everyone has the electric impact setup & air and everything ,,,back in the old days when we traded rocks as money you were considered a god of considerable magnatude if you produced one of those babies with a decent hammer out of your kit in the field,,i have 3 ,,,one in my truck one at work one at home in my box,,,,they work perfectly to remove the gigantic phillips door screws that are on older cars that have been set when Moses was still alive,,,,you said it,,,"they work like a charm",,,

OK so my stator was caked with dirt!!! Not sure why cause I don't take it off roading or anything. Anyway I cleaned dirt off and it looks brand new. Put it all back together and still won't get spark. Is it possible it's just totally fried?

The stator is only one part of the spark genesis. It could be several things other than the stator. Here's a tutorial. Rich

Rich is correct as usual,,,could be the hall effect sensor,,,connection plugs could be so dirty they may have a bad connection,,,any number of things can shut down the system,,,,
