I am working on a Honda Elite SA50. It is a 2-Stroke. I can't get the idle or mixture correct. Steps I have taken: - Cleaned and dried air filter
- adjusted mixture screw
- adjusted idle screw
No matter where I set the screws I can't get a high enough stable idle. So, I decided to pull the carb to give it a good cleaning. I disconnected the hoses but when I got to the fuel supply hose gas poured out and kept coming. Is that supposed to happen with a vacuum petcock? Do you suppose it has failed? Could that be my problem?

If it is a PETCOCK VACUUM controlled then yes it is not shutting off the fuel flow and is probably flooding the carb out. Alleyoop
