Hi Guys I have a weak on my 50cc rebuild it seems jumpy,Do you need a earth ? fitted a new stator and seems weak ? anyone know what voltage should be coming from the stator when engine is been cranked ? can i check what current is coming from the sparkplug cap by using a mulitimeter ?
any info would be so much appreciated thanks guys

Check the ac voltage on the black/red wire while cranking . Check the engine ground coil ground cdi ground .
What type of spark plug are you using ? John

No you can't check at the plug boot, I think it's about 25,000 to 30,000v. You can check at the coil input and it's about 30v AC. The R/B powers the CDI and should be 50 to 100v AC. If your spark is irregular, a more likely suspect is the trigger impulse. It should be .05v AC+. There are several articles in the electrical section of the Library on stators.
