getting back to the cvt,,,,Alley wouldn't a bad torque spring create a slipping condition as well?

It is very obvious if the belt is slipping your revs will go up but you will not gain any speed.
The problem with this one is NO POWER that is why it runs good on the stand but put a load on it and it just cannot pull the weight low compression. The plug hole is stripped and loosing compression the cvt looks fine.

does it have the same problem when you try to ride the scooter , maybe switch out the brother , see if the problem goes away . Have you tried a petite girl ?

To be perfectly honest, I have ZERO idea on how the spark plug hole got stripped. The spark plug was put back into place firmly and has not been removed in almost two years. No HUMAN force could have stripped it. I'm thinking that it may have loosened up over time and eventually the compression from the cylinder pushed the spark plug out against the threads and stripped out the top threads, leading to low compression.

It would be insert or new head time,,,and it also looks like it's time brother learns that brother ( that would be you) doesn't work for free including diagnostics,,,,i made a decent living wage when i was a young pup doing just what you are doing and it supported my habit,,,( no Rich not that kind ),,of keeping my cars and bikes in custom parts and tires and stuff,,,been at it ever since,,,i'm not trying to be harsh here but i've found out early on that some people "rely" on people such as yourself to repair things and don't expect to compensate you for your time and in some instances even parts,,,,,,

Sorry to hear you are having problems with your brothers scooter. Sounds like you got the diagnosis figured out that is over half of the battle. You and your bother could probley have a head on in a couple of hours if you don't have to take the motor out. Sounds like you have all the tools and work space go for it. The plug hole probley didn't strip it self out you are probley right brother was messing with it.
By all means help your brother see if he will take you out for dinner some time or bowling or something for your help. Good luck young lad.

OK, this forum has officially gone off the rails. There's a Proboards truck that just pulled up in my driveway and two big guys in black suits got out and they look pissed.
