Hi to ALL!
I arrived at this forum following a link in an oil cooler video and was hoping to gain some info in that area. However after reading several different threads here I must say I am impressed with the amount of knowledge that is shared. It would be nice if some of the comment knowledge was placed in a single forum thread. eg: roller weights for hill climbing
Here is the info I am seeking:
1. does anyone know what the oil pressure and volume is on these stock GY6 engines?
2. what is the intended function of the P.A.I.R. valve?
3. read a comment about Fuel Injection kit, but there was no link, anyone have info on that? I am aware that Denso just started marketing a kit, but it is limited to Japan.
4. has anyone disected a stock exhaust and have photos of the baffling?
5. has anyone tested the performance of a stock 50cc GY6 with the muffler removed - thinking of how the Scrambler pipes were on the Honda 305cc
5. has anyone tested the different gear kits for the rear output? if so, what were your observations?
7. where can replacement body plastics be purchased (new or used)?
8. is there a repair kit for the floor panel mount holes (scooter has been laid down)
Than you for any and all info!

Welcome to the sight bud I do not know how to answer all your questions but for body panels and plastic try scrappy dog scooters they have a wide selection for those bikes. There is also a liabary section in this form you can look threw at the top left that says scooter doc forms click that I think it's at the bottom if I remember correctly. It has some great general info exspecally on gy6 engines and bodies very popular scooter. I am surprised alley or bashan havn't posted on your questions yet there the experts. Good luck and hope some info is better than none. Alley or bashan will get to see this soon and they will point you with some more noledgable advice have fun and ride safe once you get squared away.

Most of your questions can be found in the tech section and or TIPS AND TRICKS. Not a good idea to run a motor without a MUFFLER, although the 4ts do not need a lot of back pressure it will burn up your exhaust valve sooner rather than later.
Also about the baffles just about every muffler that is baffled unless made by the same manufacturer have different internal design.
As far as EFI kits one is in the tech section with photos and how it was done.

1. does anyone know what the oil pressure and volume is on these stock GY6 engines? The volume is about .8L, it should be in your owner manual. Oil pressure is really low, about 5 PSI.
2. what is the intended function of the P.A.I.R. valve? To pulsate fresh air into the exhaust to burn off unspent fuel:
3. read a comment about Fuel Injection kit, but there was no link, anyone have info on that? I am aware that Denso just started marketing a kit, but it is limited to Japan. Nah, MBE markets them to anybody that coughs up the bucks:
4. has anyone disected a stock exhaust and have photos of the baffling? We await your findings.
5. has anyone tested the performance of a stock 50cc GY6 with the muffler removed - thinking of how the Scrambler pipes were on the Honda 305cc That's a good way to burn up your exhaust valve
5. has anyone tested the different gear kits for the rear output? if so, what were your observations? Yes, Alley has a post in Memorable posts.
7. where can replacement body plastics be purchased (new or used)? JV got you
8. is there a repair kit for the floor panel mount holes (scooter has been laid down) Not sure, I would just wing it.

jvino, thanks for the info and the welcome!
alleyoop, thank you for the response, but i rode a honda scrambler 305cc with factory scrambler pipes for over 30k miles and no exhaust valves ever burned and that was well before hardened valves and seats- tetra ethyl lead was in the fuel as a lubricant back then
bashan, thank you as well. i was looking for the oil pump specs in volume per minute @ what pressure, not the crankcase capacity. i got the little scooter running earlier today. After i get it road worthy i'll start actually testing things to improve it
when i got it running i figured out that P.A.I.R. is an acronym for Pulsed Air Injection Reaction. If there is a HC/CO catalyst in the exhaust per the diagram, that is impressive engineering and lots of backpressure

Alley and bash answered most of your questions. The Knowledge you seek is here somewhere and a search on the subjects should lead you in the right direction. As for your question on oil pumps, I have a post about the modification I did to my oil pump I Just can't remember where I put it. I didn't get around to testing the pressure and volume of the modified pump though. I just have to many thing going on but still plan on it. As far as E.F.I. I was one of the first To put a system on a gy6 139qmb engine. Actually my engine is 72cc. It is not a simple bolt on procedure and some minor modifications might have to be made. Also it will tax the charging system to the limit. But it can be done. I got my system from Ecotrons, it is basically the same system as the MBE. They have been through several upgrades since I installed my system.

Bull,
The ONLY thing hard about a Chinese scooter is keeping it running. LOL They are not built to the standard of a 'regular' bike. They require extra maintenance and care. What you could do to a regular bike would kill one of these.

thanks to all who have replied! Royldoc, i look forward to reading your dissertation on your oil pump modifications, as that area concerns me most on these scooters since the sump capacity is less than 1 quart. as soon as i become proficient in using this sites' search function i will read more relevant info. guitarman, thanks. it is understandable that they require lots of maintenance especially considering how high they must rev to reach max power. alleyoop, i looked at your photo extensively and did not see damages caused by removal of a muffler. what i saw was clearly that the spark plug electrodes (softer steel) had melted away from heat and those electrodes had been bouncing around in the engine. the damage is mostly confined to an area between the valves and not to the exhaust valve. the intake valve shows previous damage, which adds further evidence. the spark plug center electrode, appears to be below and between the valves, whilst the ground electrode is still attached to the plug and lying to one side. the exhaust valve seat does not show damage which should be there if the valve failed first. additionally the guide does not appear to be distorted which would be expected. to me your photo shows all the telltale signs of detonation / spark knock damage. you can easily see what i see by using a 200% magnification on photo editor, gimp or other photo editing software. i would add an annotated photo, but it appears i must have them hosted elsewhere. here is a link to the denso fuel injection kit and its minimalistic approach to application, which i like. bloodycars.com/denso-develops-a-new-low-cost-fuel-injection-system-for-small-motorcycles/

My comment was about the harden valves(NOT), not that the damage was caused by running without a muffler. And no, the spark plug electrode did not melt it was in tack, Bent but in tack. This just happened to a guy 2 weeks ago on another forum. The valve head broke off the stem for whatever reason and the valve head was pushed into the exhaust pipe and it was bent on one side outward not toward the stem. The piston head naturally had all kinds of damage and that along with new rings and a new head were replaced. He has a not so common BN1P57QMJ motor which your common GY6 157QMJ motors parts will not fit like the rockers. So we had to swap the rockers from the old Rocker Assembly onto the new Assembly and put all back together and it is purring and he is a happy camper commuting to work.

Yep you need some learning on these chinese scoots and motors, they are not like your motorcycles that the motors are proven power plants that can take a lot. These little lawn mower motors are not built with quality metals in the first place and are not built with close tolerances. in other words you can blow them up pretty fast if you do not know what your doing.
