Is this the very same 300 that you were contemplating suicide over? Hardefargingharhar Mr. Depends.
If I wanted to, I guess I could remove the engine from the scoot and crack the case open so I'll be able to get any filings/shavings, but that seems like a lot of work. Pete! It's my son Pete! He has returned with a different name! No Pete, you don't have to get up off of the couch, I know that's a lot of work. Your Mom will bring you food and it will be predigested to save you energy, she'll feed you like a mother bird...you know...erp!
Maybe I could just drill/tap a second hole in the valve cover... although I get the feeling there is a lot of oil splashing around in there. There is and it's all scary and stuff. But you could drill into the labyrinth which is designed to keep oil out of the case vent, but it's a huge energy expenditure, getting off the couch I mean:
Bash, remember the theory (especially true for harley riders) that the size and loudness of the engine is inversely proportionate to the size of your... you know... dipstick. I'm not worried about that, just my crank. Why are we talking scooter parts?

B...b...b... but I love cheese! I really do. Too much probably. I want to make a secondary crank case vent by drilling a hole though the dipstick and gluing in a hose barb. Similar to the oil catch can scrappydog sells, but keeping the crosshatched portion of the stick connected. Not a good idea that is where the pump is and it creates a lot of pressure right there. Don't believe me take the dispstick out and see oil shot out 6 feet into the air. Also not needed you already have a crankcase vent on the valve cover MORE THAN ENOUGH.

Also not needed you already have a crankcase vent on the valve cover MORE THAN ENOUGH. I actually did that. Oil is still burning off of my exhaust manifold. I'm getting the impression I should just leave well enough alone and not introduce another potential source of problems. I'll just scrap the whole idea. Now I can spend the money I was going to use on tubing and a tap to buy something else, like CHEESE!

Yep those catch can cans are SNAKE OIL GIMMICKS, just think about, by the fill hole is where the pump is and creates a lot of pressure. So you put one of those things on and what happens the Oil gets pushed into the can and fills up. NOW what just happened your crankcase is now LOW ON OIL. SNAKE OIL I tell you they come up with some crazy stuff just to take peoples money. Many have bought them and taken them off. Alleyoop
