I bought this for my (now) X- wife. To be honest, it has been nothing but trouble since day one. I had a list of stuff that Mega Motor Madness made good on and a list of stuff that I thought they should have. Any way, that's gone (along with the X).
I know it should be a dependable little machine, but it has not been. Now, I need to get it running so I can sell it. I want it to be a good scoot for whoever buys it.

It won't start. Here's what I did and how it stands right now.
It's in my shop with all the body off - except the front fairings.
I've replaced the top of the carb because the diaphram was torn. I also cleaned the carb even though it was amazingly clean.
I replaced the coil, wire and sparkplug.
I adjusted the valves -it has 1,200 miles on it.
The fuel pump is working.
It is getting spark. Although I don't know what a good spark looks like on these scooters, I could feel it through my nitrile gloves.
When I turn it over and give it gas and it doesn't start you would think the spark plug would be wet. It isn't, it's dry.
What's up with that? Gas not going through the carb?
I've drained the tank but have not put new gas in yet because the battery is dead - that's what happens when you leave the key on.
My plan is to get the battery charged, buy a new carb, put new gas in it and try it, unless anyone has any other suggestions.

Well if you hold the spark plug on the VALVE COVER and it sparks then that is good. Holding it on the frame to test for spark is not good. It may fire on the frame but not on the motor and if it doesn't fire on the motor then that means you have a bad ground from the motor to the frame.

I have to take your word for it that the spark plug is firing so I will go on that assumtion and if it cranks over and does not fire and the plug is dry that means no gas is being sucked out of the PILOT JET outlets.
So the next thing to do is clean out the PILOT JET and its outlets by the butterfly and here is how to do that.

So either take the carb off or loosen the Clamps and rotate it and take the carb bowl off.
Then take Carb Cleaner they come with a thin straw and STICK IT IN the PILOT JET hole and SPRAY.
Spray should then come out by the Pilot Jet outlets in PIC #2.

Then after you button it back up Turn The Fuel Ratio Mixture screw clockwise until it stops and then turn it Counter Clockwise 2 1/2 turns that should be more than enough for it to start and run pretty good.

there are lemons of all vehicles Luke. I'm sure there are bad morphous's. when olds came out with the 350 diesel in the 70s there were some that were great and some that were constantly terrible.

Thanks Alleyoop. I'll make absolutely, positively all that is as you say. I've already been there, done that 5X but with the old gas. I'll go through it again and add new gas before doing anything else. To be honest, I don't remember if it firing against the engine or frame (I read that last night in another thread - but thanks for the reiteration), but it was firing/sparking.
I never adjusted the fuel ratio adjustment screw. Matbe I'll get lucky and one of the X's "friends" messed with it and all it'll take is re-adjusting.

I moved this thread to the correct section for the OP. In this one line reply I see no attempt to help this member but rather the usual getting real old reply of here's another you know what type scooter this is comment.

So let me lay this out very clear, want to help with informative answers on members questions knock yourself out, want to start the age old pissing match of my scooter is better than your scooter crap then keep it to yourself and post it in the  joke section. This is for everyone in this mode of thinking, it's got old, it's not necessary, and from now on not permitted.

I apologize to the OP of this thread and we're here to help you get your scooter going.

Thanks JR, I didn't know it was in the wrong place. I'm to the point of selling this. I have to move from my house and land because of a recent divorce. I don't have time to play....I will put it in the classifieds.
If there is someone close by the Shreveport LA area that would look at it though, I would be glad to pay them.
Thanks to everyone for all the help I did receive. I like this forum and would have stayed here if my wife (who still loves the scooter) had stayed. Myself, I've moved on to the adventure bike world.
As soon as I get some pics, I'll put it in the classifieds for $200.

Here is the scooter the whupped me. I cannot get it to fire up and am tird of working on it. I put it all back together for the photos. I am going to put it in the classifieds for $300. But, I wanted to say that if someone could get it fired up I'll pay them. I live in Shreveport, LA. Thanks for the help I recieved on this site. It is a good site!
