Congrats on getting yours running! I did replace the cdi on mine (if the CDI is the thing on the other end of the spark plug wire). Maybe it's time to look at flywheel. No bites on selling mine so I may spend some time on it again.
This thread was helpful. Thanks!

I'm really glad to see this thread. My situation is EXACTLY like this. I have the scoot listed in the local Craigslist and on this site .. I think the x wife will let me have it for $200. I will follow this thread to the "fix"!

I wish this thing had points! Symptoms are it won't fire. I get spark with the plug out but it seems like it doesn't spark at all when everything is back together. I sprayed ether in the vacuum hole right at the head/intake and still no fire. I wanted to fix it for the X but a year has come and gone and it just sits and she (X) is still playing in the bars. At some point, I have to consider them both a loss. I guess I'm at that point. BTW- the spark seems very weak. But I would think any spark would kick off ether. As an aside, I would be willing to pay someone to come look at it if there were a member close by.

This is my X-wifes. I'm just need it gone. I'm pretty sure if you know these scooters like I know old VW's, you can get it running in short order. I believe it's not sparking. Even though I can get it to spark with the plug out, it doesn't seem like it it has enough spark. The scooter ran was running well until she loaned it out to a friend. It came back not running. The diaphragm in the carb was torn (From the factory, I think) so I replaced the top of the carb. I bought high performance plug, wire and box thingie that was part of an ebay deal. Anyway, since it's not mine and it's just taking up room in my shop, I'd like for someone that knows and appreciates the GY-6 150cc engines to get it. Manufacture plate says May 2011 but we bought it new in 2012. It has 1,276 miles on it. I adjusted the valves and changed the oil and gas. I really wanted it to go because "the woman" liked it so much. The woman has the title and it's free and clear. I'm taking care of the selling but the title is in her name so the legals will have to be done with her. It has some scratches, but looks pretty good! I just read the whole thread. Kiewie, I would not want to get in a fight with you. You never give up! I hope you get the funds soon to get your scooter running -especially after all this trouble!

There's some good information in this thread! If I may hijack for a minute - is it possible to have spark when the plug is out of the engine and not spark when you put it in the engine? I do have spark when I arched it on the valve cover bolt. I put it back in and sprayed ether in the intake vacuum line and got NO hint that it wants to start.

Thanks JR, I didn't know it was in the wrong place. I'm to the point of selling this. I have to move from my house and land because of a recent divorce. I don't have time to play....I will put it in the classifieds. If there is someone close by the Shreveport LA area that would look at it though, I would be glad to pay them. Thanks to everyone for all the help I did receive. I like this forum and would have stayed here if my wife (who still loves the scooter) had stayed. Myself, I've moved on to the adventure bike world. As soon as I get some pics, I'll put it in the classifieds for $200. Thanks again! Mike Clark

Thanks Alleyoop. I'll make absolutely, positively all that is as you say. I've already been there, done that 5X but with the old gas. I'll go through it again and add new gas before doing anything else. To be honest, I don't remember if it firing against the engine or frame (I read that last night in another thread - but thanks for the reiteration), but it was firing/sparking. I never adjusted the fuel ratio adjustment screw. Matbe I'll get lucky and one of the X's "friends" messed with it and all it'll take is re-adjusting. I'll be back! (In my best Ahnold impression -which is pretty bad)

Also enjoyed the pics. I was up there in May on my Honda 2012 NC700X. It is a great area to ride!

I bought this for my (now) X- wife. To be honest, it has been nothing but trouble since day one. I had a list of stuff that Mega Motor Madness made good on and a list of stuff that I thought they should have. Any way, that's gone (along with the X). I know it should be a dependable little machine, but it has not been. Now, I need to get it running so I can sell it. I want it to be a good scoot for whoever buys it.
It won't start. Here's what I did and how it stands right now. It's in my shop with all the body off - except the front fairings. I've replaced the top of the carb because the diaphram was torn. I also cleaned the carb even though it was amazingly clean. I replaced the coil, wire and sparkplug. I adjusted the valves -it has 1,200 miles on it. The fuel pump is working. It is getting spark. Although I don't know what a good spark looks like on these scooters, I could feel it through my nitrile gloves. When I turn it over and give it gas and it doesn't start you would think the spark plug would be wet. It isn't, it's dry. What's up with that? Gas not going through the carb? I've drained the tank but have not put new gas in yet because the battery is dead - that's what happens when you leave the key on. My plan is to get the battery charged, buy a new carb, put new gas in it and try it, unless anyone has any other suggestions.

The enricher is the thing on the side with the two wires, correct? if so, that may be the problem.
I need to make SURE those little pilot holes are clear.
The valves WERE tight. I adjusted them.
I'll get bak on it this week and report back. Thanks for the suggestions guys!
