I bought this Gy-6 150cc scooter for my wife and we've had nothing but trouble. She has managed to get 1,250 miles on it so I gues that's not entirely true. Although, it's taken at least a year to do that. So, I'm trying to get it running ONE MORE TIME. I have all the body off and went ahead and checked everything out. Air filter- unnaturally clean! Valves -tight, I set them. CVT -didn't check that because it's doing fine
Now, the problem. I can't get it running. I've replaced the top half of the carb -the diaphragm was ripped.
The carb is getting gas but I don't think the gas is making it to the combustion chamber.
I've taken the carb apart and blown out everthing I could with carb cleaner. All holes seem to be clean.
When I checked the spark plug, it's dry. It is sparking.
This is driving me batty!
I have a Burgman 400 and had zero problems out of it! I said ONE MORE TIME because she left me but I told her I'd get it going for her once more.
I don't see how you guys keep these thing running! I've had nothing but problems with this scooter. On the other hand, if I can fix this, I may be able to fix the locals scooters and make some money!
Thanks for any help! I'm right before buying a complete carb.

Well, the scooter has been down for a while because my wife left me and she can't fix anything. Being the nice co-dependant guy I am, I offered to get it running again. We always had probs starting it and I think I found out why. The diaphragm on top of the carb was torn in two places. Got the new top of carb. (Can't just get the diaphragm). The scoot has 1250 miles on it so I'm adjusting the valves as soon as I get back out to the shop. They are both a little tight but I first have to look up what they are supposed to be before I adjust them. I really appreciate this site as it has all the info and more I could ever want. The wife still likes the scooter despite the fact that it's been broken longer than running. I give BIG kudos to all you guys (and girls ?)that like these little GY-6's and keep them running. I've had nothing but trouble and this is the last time I'll fix hers. This is a great site and I will always tell anyone I see with a small scoot about it. For myself - an 2008 Suzuki Burgman 400- love it!
Mike 6736 - yes, I had it drop shipped.

Thanks John. The fill is between the feet. I guess I need to take off at least the seat. It's like 3000F here right now. It'll have to wait till the AM!

Hey guys and girls, I'm new to these scooters. I bought one for my wife and just did the 300 klicks fluid changes. The gas gauge comes on an shows about half full no matter how much or little gas is in it. Is there a video somewhere showing how to get to the sender or is it a common problem in the gauge? I really like this scooter! It's a 150cc - Kaitong/Roketa? Says Kaitong on the title

Hey everybody, my name is Mike and I bought a GY6 150 for my wife. I'll put pictures in the picture forum when I get some good ones. The 150 will probably end up being mine as she is already saying she wants more power. I know I could upgrade this one but we NEED two scooters anyway! My last motorcycle was a 1974 Honda 750 about 32 years ago (I'm 57). These little scooters are just fine for me now! I'm not the speed demon I used to be.... I look forward to meeting some of you!

Just wanted to know if anyone else has used them. I bought my first scooter (for my wife) from them and had a less than desirable experience. It's a 150 GY6 engine. Sorry, I don't have any pictures right now. Here's my problems-
1) the wire harness was pulled out of the left brake handle - couldn't start the bike. Waited for a new one -it was too short. I ended up splicing into the old one.
2) chrome flaking off the start button casing.
3) left blinker light not working
4) headlight burned out before I could get out of the parking lot
5) warped front brake rotor
6) flat back tire
I think we bought a Friday bike when everyone was ready to go home. To be fair, they did replace everything so far except the brake rotor. We are duckering over me having to pay shipping. They said they already sent some stuff at their cost , so now it's my turn. I said I couldn't know the rotor was warped because the bike was unusable until I got the first things - oh well....
The bike is running very good and my wife loves it but is already wanting more power. I'll probably get her a 250 and use the 150 myself.
I'll go and make a proper intro in the right thread area, but my name is Mike and I'm glad I found Scooter Doc!

If it were me, I would buy the line from someone else and be riding. I wouldn't give up messing with ct , though!

What about Megamotormadness? I have a few things to say about them. I'll have to find the thread about who to avoid.

This is my first post here. That's a great looking scooter. I have a lot to learn about all the mods and things. Your scooter looks just like the one I got my wife. Here's is red and white but you have a more retro look. What is a "NCY 170cc BBK"?
I say again GREAT looking ride!
