GM should never been bailed out. Couldn't have hardly said no after bailing out Chrysler?

At least chrysler did not hide a recall item for 10 years, but they should not have been bailed out either. Gm should have been forced to recall all the pickups they built 30 some years ago with the side mounted gas tank too. I owned one of them and I still own one of the ignition sw recalled malibu's only mine failed a year and a half ago and I had to pay. It did just like the ones they are recalling now....engine quits while the car is in motion! Mine is on the list but they have not got around to me yet.

GM and Chrysler should have done like Ford and gotten there monies indirectly. Personally I haven't a gripe about that. They where required to repay and kept people employed. The credit card company "bail out" on the other hand destroyed a lot of people's lives.
And to keep it on topic, that is why I'm not riding a scooter at this time. But, I keep working towards it and keep smiling.

It's not Gubments job to be bailin' ANYbody out.
I came up with my own formula to decide if a bike is over priced.
Divide total cost by the CC's of the bike. After you do a few of these, you find that a fair price is around 10 to 15. Less is better, more is robbery.

I came up with my own formula to decide if a bike is over priced. Divide total cost by the CC's of the bike. After you do a few of these, you find that a fair price is around 10 to 15. Less is better, more is robbery. The factor I use is dollars per mile. I expect to get 1000 miles for every $100 I spend. A $7000 Vespa 300 will have to go 70,000 miles to pay me back. A $2000 Roketa 250 would only have to do 20,000 miles before we're even. An addendum is repairs. I don't count consumables in the equation but repairs for breakdowns, I do. So if that marvelous Mediterranean machine is burning up or using parts I add that into the mileage formula. Every $100 means it has to go another 1,000 miles. Based on what I've seen that 300 Vespa would have to last 90,000 miles to make sense. A 250 Suzuki would have to go only 50,000 miles based on expected cost and repairs to pad my wallet.

kz, I like your reasoning. Return on investment is very logical.

It did just like the ones they are recalling now....engine quits while the car is in motion! Mine is on the list but they have not got around to me yet. Let's add to that list, how many people have became a human torch to the Mustangs with the gas tank in the trunk? One such person who lived over it and collected millions from Ford did and independent research and went as far as showing beyond a shadow of a doubt that the problem could be solved for under $200 material and labor in all. Did crash tests to simulate the vehicle catching on fire and with his simple change not one ounce of gas or flames entered the vehicle interior.
Ford's response? Vehicle was DOT legal at the time it was made and it's cheaper to pay the law suits. Latest studies show that with people who want this classic and still restore them that there are more of them on the road right now that at any time in their history, the early era 60's to 70's Mustangs, nothing but a death trap.

Geez and all this time i was buying bikes cause i liked them,,,silly me There's that too, but you're much more likely to get 150,000 miles out of a BMW S1000RR than 200,000 miles out of a Ducati Panigale. Heck you're more likely to get 200,000 miles out of your Stella than that Ducati.

Honestly, I think the guy got scared off of it. He doesn't seem like he really knows how to ride and I think he almost killed himself and just wants it gone.
Total cost will be around $800 to get it legal and current with new tires and a tune up. So, Less than a grand for it.
