Hi there im from Sweden and new here and im hoping i could get some help here from you experts. I just came by a viarelli 250 touring real cheap because it has a problem. when cold it fire´s up on first crank, then after maybe a minute or so it dies if you don´t hold the rpm above 2000 and when it dies you have to wait like a minute or so for it to start again. So it´s pretty unridable because at every redlight or stop you have to rev it and hold the brakes and it´s not good on the variator i suppose.
it´s also heavy on the gas i think its getting way to much because the mileage is lousy, also the fan keeps coming on although the temp gauge isnt even at half ? could it be low on coolant ? where is the temp sensor at ? because the cap under the seat is full of coolant but not the one in front beside the gascap.
I´ve been searching the web for answers and found anything from valve adjustment to cdi or coil. ive tested the auto choke today and it works i thought i could be that it never pushed out the needle.
ok that´s a lot of questions but im thankful for every suggestions on my problem.
have tried to find out what engine it has and it says BZ169MM at the rear on the engine near the shock absorber and YY250T in the papers

There's a real simple way to determine what engine it is. Take the bucket off, if it is a vertical cylinder it's a CF Moto clone and you should use the Honda Helix manual for the engine. If the cylinder runs horizontal it's the Linhai clone and you'll use the Yamaha Majesty for the engine. The manuals are in our Library. I agree it does sound like valves, that is where I would start. YY250T badges usually mean a vertical engine but sometimes they are misbadged.

If your fan is cycling on and off and not letting the engine overheat it sounds like it is operating correctly. The overflow tank in the front (next to the gas tank) should have some coolant in it. There should be minimum and maximum markings on it. I think the temperature sensor is in the bottom of the radiator.

Ok guys first of all thanks for the help. I´ve just came back from a long testdrive with my "new" scoot, what a difference it´s like a rocket now feels like i got 20 hp more The intake valve was 0.15 mm so i set it to 0,10 the exhaust valve couldn´t i even get a 0,05 mm in between so i set it to 0,2 mm i cranked it up and it started on first try but the idle was high like 4000 rpm so i just adjusted the screw and now its perfect and the fan doesnt come on as frequent as before so i guess the engine runs cooler now when the exhaust valve opens.

Yeah, they kinda do that. So was it vertical or horizontal?
