I say go with piston, it's the majority and not everybody relates to the medical world, or likes it. So what's the negative...the take away? Blown piston? Dropped piston? Ruined piston? Pisston? Pissedton? Pissed Piston? I'm just spit balling. Rich

Shoot....Gman is right. We should just use give piston and take piston. Or the circle/slash sign over the piston. Jack's selfie would have been better.

Why do we need either? We already have "like". I don't see why we have to copy other forums, this forum worked fine from the day it was started with out "bones".

First of no one is wanting to copy other forums, not going to use bones that's the reason for this thread. If members here as a majority don't want a karma system that gives whatever is chosen  along with ability to take away karma then by all means it won't be used. But forums are kind of like other things that are nice for instance if you still own or drive a 1963 Dodge Dart it has no air conditioner and back then to even get air conditioning it was custom order, now you almost can't even buy a farm tractor without air conditioning, in other words we advance with improvements.

But you did make a good point about the Likes Button and FYI all PB forums have the Likes Button it can be removed with coding changes but like new vehicles today with air conditioning it's a standard V5 feature, never yet heard of anyone removing their air conditioning.

But if folks would like a different system than the old type karma buttons I can put a Dislike button with a hands down right by the current Likes button and a Like/Dislike part in the mini profile under ones avatar, it would look like this:

In this screenshot of another forum you can see they use both functions, the like/dislike and the karma system, all a matter of choice and what folks want as far as I'm concerned.

Like I said, all what folks want, won't lose a minutes sleep if no one wants to change anything.

I say we try it, if it becomes a problem we pull the plug. Personally, I don't like the "like" function....it's too facebook. We had a strong vote for piston which tells me there was some interest in the new system. Shall we run a poll on trying the new system? How about a poll on whether we should have a poll about the new system? Let's just try it and go from there. As far as I'm concerned Jack go ahead and pull the switch if your comfortable with it too. Rich

I can change the like button to Love if you like! Then I could add a Hate Button by it!  Kind of sounds like a divorce court doesn't it! Man you would have 136 Loves kind of suspicious don't you think?

By the way I did remove the air conditioning on my Dodge Dakota. Just something expencive to break.
