Hi Guys,
Just found a trike I'm interested in. A 2010 Magnum. He is asking $2000 and it has 220 miles on it.
Sounds like a great deal. Can anyone give me some feed back on this model. Any known problems for this year?
Does it have reverse, Is the rear end like the new 2014's or a different set up?
Thanks, Billtrek

Forgive me but....
I swear to you that a little old lady only drove it to church on Sundays.
What they don't tell you is that she was a stunt driver and church was at the bottom of a cliff.

Mike6736 had one, and it does have reverse, he did a lot of mods on it and he can tell you all the poop on it. MIKE6736 (MAGGO). you can PM him he comes on once in a while and would be more than happy to answer your questions. He sold it and got a HONDA 600 with a Voyager trike kit. Alleyoop Here was his Magnum: Here is his current Ride:

The rear end is a lot different than the 2014. On that Model the reverse is activated by a lever on the left side handlebar and runs a cable back to the rear differential. Most 2010 models were a straight axel, some of the later ones were independent rear suspension with CV axels. The center diff is the same on both. In 2012 Ice Bear changed the reverse and put it in the motor casing and added neutral and a right hand side shifer with a straight axel like the 150s.
Make sure you keep the cable adjusted on that model. Failure to do so with cause binding and semi engagement of the reverse gearing and cause severe damage to the rear center section.
BTW 2000.00 is a great price if it is good shape and reverse works.

Jim would it be better to have the straight axel or the CV with independent suspension? Alleyoop That silverwing looks great triked out. The guys son put the add up for him. He told me he would give my number to his Dad. Haven't received any reply from his Dad yet. Does anyone ride their trikes in the winter? I ride my ural sidecar all winter and was wondering if I could do it with these trikes also.

I had a lot of fun with that old Magnum. But was a lot of work keeping it on the road. I spent a lot of money with rear mods and changed rear out2 Times. I took the straight axle would be better. Price is right if was garages kept, get it now and move up later Magoo

alleyoop. Lol it's not that bad if you dress for it. I like riding in the snow. My Ural has no problem with a few inches of snow on the ground. Jim. I talked with the owner tonight and he told me it vibrates going over 35. He blamed the "knuckles in the rear end" I'm guessing that means he has the independent rear suspension with CV axels. He also said that reverse works. Mike. What kind of mods did you do.You replaced the rear end twice .

LOL. Sounds about right... Well had to replace all the bearings in the wheel hubs with rows of bearings and machine the swing arms for the rear wheels and have spacers were they had roller bearings than it ran down the road great. Cost was around 1k. Best thing I did was sell it and move up . I like to cross country and ride at 70mph and up all day long so moved up. I tell us, if you are just gonna ride local and Round town the price is right.

If the cv knuckles were bad he would have more issues than vibration. It could be nothing more than tire balance. Check the a arms and make sure the bushings are not worn.
Honestly I have seen less issues with the straight axels than the independent. I thought the independent was a good idea for a smoother ride, however, there wer some issues with the spindles and hubs, some of them were consumer generated

Mike. I don't have the money to do all that. Is there something I should check to see if it is wearing badly? Or is there a way to prevent it? Since it has such low mileage. I like the rack you had on the back. I also like the fender lights. Are they turn signals or brake lights? Jim. If the tires are still original What size should I replace them with? The rims look different than the ones on the newer version. Do you have a picture of what I need to check on the A arms? And spindles and hubs. Alleyoop. Do you know a good tire tread for the snow? Here is the listing so you can see the bike. link

Really it would be wise to go with a straight axle. If the tire are what came on it New they need to go... Magoo
