kiewie I didn't think about it before, but unless you pulled that piece out when you removed the cover, its still floating around in the engine somewhere. order the assembly that you found and install it, but before you run it AT ALL tilt the bike to the right and hopefully the piece will go to the oil filter drain on the right rear of the engine and you can remove it.

Alleyoop you might want to take a look at her previous posts and the broken rocker assembly.

I just did, and yes that looks like when someone did some work on it the cam bearing was not in good in the slot and it was forced in. Happened to a guy on prof as well about a month ago. Alleyoop NOW BEFORE YOU TAKE THE 4 bolts off to pull the broken assembly off DO THIS: Turn the motor over by hand and line the CAM up like the picture and MARK the chain and CAM. That is so when you put it back on your timing will not be off.

As soon as I can find a way to make the funds to get the part, order it and then recieve it I will be sure to make sure and follow your instructions. I'll be back..... Maybe a few weeks though, as I dunno when I'll be able to order the part let alone how long shipping is gonna take.

So how can I be sure I found the right part? :/
And also.... No one has ever worked on my scooter before? :/ I bought it brand new, after someone assembled it here? Didn't even get a bill of sale, it was a pain in the butt to register. But zero miles, pulled the plastic off of her myself. :/ Could someone kicking the kick start too roughly cause this? Maybe the impact of the accident, even though it was only in the front that I was hit?

Well if nobody ever took the valve cover off before then it was a defective part to begin with. Alleyoop

So I got the part!! :] Will be putting it in tonight hopefully. I just got evicted and things have been hectic but, I should be able to borrow the tools later tonight and will likely be working on it until I can get it all back together. :]

So is there anything special aside from lining up the Cam I should worry about while replacing this? I also remember I need to get that chunk out if I can find it. And adjust the valves once it's in. But yeah....

No, just line the cam up like in the picture take the 4 bolts off and Make sure the EX marks on the Rocker Assembley are on the bottom, the EX stamped on it tells you that side is the EXHAUST side BOTTOM. Alleyoop

So, I'm trying to put this one and for some reason it doesn't want to line up right. I got the right part. But it doesn't really want to go on and I don't want to damage by force........ It just doesn't want to go ALL the way on the cam thingy. Excuse the poor lingo.

pictures, also look at the old one and look at the new one, also it could be that the rocker adjusters are set to far in and are hitting the valves and not letting it fall down in place, so loosen the lock nuts on the rockers and back out the adjusting stud. Alleyoop

So all seemed well for a moment... But that starting issue remains ... It's like picky or something. Really dodgey. When pressing the starter to start it it will try hard, doesn't sound drained or anything the starter sounds right like it's doing what it's supposed to.... But it'll only start via starter sporadicly once or twice, else wise I could sit there trying for an hour and nothing, no start just tryingg. Kick start seems to have a better effect, only it's still pretty picky. I thought I was just a crappy kicker, and I am, but the people who usually have luck kicking it are also now having issues. When I do run, it's smooth until I open the throttle all the way... Only getting to like 30-35mph, used to get 40-47mph..(not a huge deal I s'pose)... And it starts stalling. Randomly at top speed. It stalls out till I let off the throttle some, then finally let's me gain speed, only after slowing me down a good 10mph.
Brand new spark plug, brand new rocker arms and bracket, everything looks fine in there. I had to use a soda can for the valves so they're adjusted to there, and the cam looked good. Found some chunks removed them, and lotsa little bits in the oil pan bolt when I changed the oil.
Brake light issues was a melted relay. That relay is unplugged and removed now. Until I can get a new one.
I just don't get it though. :/
