I want to order a performance CDI, but can't even find mine to see what it is! AC or DC! It must be by the stator. Have to pull the fan cover next. Thought it would be attached to the frame.

Where is your battery, if the battery is on the floor look in there. But the easiest way is to go to your COIL and see where the wire connected to the black terminal on it goes that will come from the CDI the other wire plugged into the green terminal is ground. Alleyoop

Most likely but to be sure, check the bottom wire on the TWO plug(THE POWER FEED), with a multi meter or a 12v light tester WITH THE KEY ON. If it registers 12v on the meter or the Light tester lights up it is DC if NADA it is AC. Alleyoop

Does 5 wires mean anything?

Depends which 5 wires, If you have ONLY ONE wire on the TWO plug it could be a DC CDI. Also MOST only have 1 green ground wire on the bottom of the 4 plug and two on the 2 plug or 1 on the two plug BUT ALWAYS the POWER WIRE on the bottom of the TWO PLUG. If it has a wire on top of the POWER WIRE it is the KILLSWITCH WIRE to kill the motor by grounding that wire either with the KEY OFF or the KILLSWITCH on the handle bar. Alleyoop

Yep, spot on Dr. Oop. I would just like to reiterate what I've been saying, the function of the ports never changes. The power port is always the power port. The coil feed is always the same right next to the trigger port. But there is no gaurantee on wire color or wire configurations. For instance, I saw a five wire CDI with one wire in the power port and it was a black wire. So you'd assume DC CDI right? Nope, it was an AC power feed and the kill function was through grounding out the TRIGGER WIRE! It looked like factory wiring but who knows. The point is, like Alley says, don't assume, get your meter out. If you don't have a meter get one, they're cheap and invaluable. Rich
