I seem to recall you riding in a downpour with tornado warnings. Insane is putting it mildly.

Faceman,
What I'm saying is that if it makes you that miserable where you are hating it, then why on Earth would you stay? I hated the winter myself, so I moved. Packed up my life and my wife and moved to a place where I can ride almost every single day.
I can't understand why anyone who has the option of moving, like you do, living in a supposedly free country, can. Quit letting it bug you. Move braddah, move.

I also shadowed a funnel clound through Memphis while on a 800cc Beemer. Hey! It was moving NE and so was I....it was OK...wasn't it? It was hailing a little too...just a little.

I've ridden in a rain storm so strong I could barely see 20 feet in front of me. And a blizzard that was a total white out. Both because I had no choice.

When my VW Bug died in the fall of '74 I had to ride my Honda CL360 through the winter in Milwaukee. Now that was fun. 10 miles to work alone.

Alot of us are from the north, me being one of them,i'm from Buffalo N.Y.the winter of 77-78 got my attention,,,i was fresh out of college and in late june early july i made the decision to scram,,,Warehouser the wood people had a huge stand of trees probably 2-3000 acres that was closed to hunting for decades,,,they decided to open it up for hunting so i went there to get the lay of the land looking for wild onions, carrots, and small game hunting along the way,,deep in the woods where it's almost twilite most of the day cause of the dense trees i found a snow drift 80-100 ft long 20-30ft wide and about 8ft deep in the center,,,it looked like a giant footbal half buried in the ground,,with fog coming off of it,,,i took down my rifle put it in my pack,,walked out and left buffalo for good 3 weeks later,,,i love that place,,,in the summer,,,KZ lives in one of the most beautiful areas in the country,,,in the summer

Took the air-conditioners out of the windows yesterday and turned on the space heater this morning.
Same here....42* yesterday morning.....38* as I type this today.....Won't be long before there's "frost on the pumpkin", and if you are a geezer (like i am), you know what that means.
