I would bet, it will surprise you.
My little $12 tach has an hour meter feature, that I used for the first time, to monitor the run time on an oil change performed last week....so I had logged 598.0 miles..and clocked 24.8 hours of run tme....that equals 24.11 mph. Seems awfully slow considering I do 90+% rural riding. Must be warm ups, and cool downs, add quite a bit of time to engine hours.
So have you ever figured your average speed?

Sometimes it's better not to know.

Some of that time is sitting at lights and that 0 MPH drags down your average big time. Rich

25mph average sounds close. Mine I think I had a bunch of miles on it before I stuck tach/hour meter on so never tried to get an average speed. I seldom got stuck with lights as one town here doesn't have lights and the other only has two, but still there were stop signs. I seldom ran much over 20 on the 2.2 miles of dirt road each time I went out on my short trips and to both towns there is places I got over 60 for a few miles. I would say in my case 25 would have been real close.

While hospitalized in Milwaukee I picked up a used little car and got Progressive insurance. They have that little thing that plugs into the computer port and relays information to them about my driving and then I could check it out on the computer at the library. Mostly city driving and one 140 mile trip on the interstate, I was averaged at 18mph. But I failed to get a discount because of my aggressive braking. It didn't measure engine braking, it was only recording those last few seconds I actually applied the brake. 40 to 0 in 2 seconds. After returning to the real world I let my brother drive it after retrieving my PU. He claims he never left that little city but averaged 38mph.
