I broke off the switch that turns my 2012 Duster moped on and off... then later the moped wouldn't even start. Some stranger was able to locate the problem for me (it was the little black box with the broken switch) and told me to just manually connect the wires from now on, i.e. until I take it to a shop for repair. So I disconnected the wires yesterday but can't for the life of me figure out how to reconnect them into each other. I included the pictures of the wires for someone who knows how these work to teach me. gyazo.com/7798c2243f8d6ed3348845512a441ad0gyazo.com/11e8ae6b82c095a4b0c95515c51ba068

I see two female spade connectors. If you turn them opposite to each other you should be able to push them together. Not the best but works in a pinch.

all your showing is two wires a green and what looks like a red wire where is the little black box or the switch that is supposed to be broken? So are you trying to reconnect the wires to the ignition or hot wire it? Alleyoop

We can't tell what wires those are from the picture. You'll have to expose more by taking off some plastic and show us where these wires run. We would be glad to help you out but we need more information than what you're providing. Imagine it from our perspective and go from there.

When you put up links to pictures make sure they are highlighted so we just need to click on the link and it takes us to the host. Need a picture of the SWITCH and the wires BRO, showing us two wires what they hey they could plug into a toaster for all we can tell. Alleyoop

I see two female spade connectors. If you turn them opposite to each other you should be able to push them together. Not the best but works in a pinch. That is exactly what I have. Now I know what they're called. Now what do you mean turn them "opposite to each other"? I just have them face each other and try to push the green into the red one like a USB cable into a USB port? Is one to be upside down or something when pushing together? Do I have to squeeze the green connector with pliers a bit to get it to fit into the red one? I tried putting them together already but that's what I can't since they're both the same size...

If you only have two wires, then you have a really oddball scooter. There has to be places where those wires come from, and where are they going to? We need to know that. We need to see where they are on the scooter. We need to have pictures enough so that it's like we are there in person looking at it and can see it and figure out what's going on. Remove some of the plastic body panels if you have to so that we can see what's going on.
If you go to the Dentist, you don't want him pulling teeth blindfolded right?

Oh, and keep all your responses in this thread. Having two conversations on the same thing is too confusing for Bashan. He's old and doesn't see well anymore. So be sure and focus your camera.

My camera doesn't have focus. It sucks. The stranger that fixed my moped simply connected these female connectors and told me to disconnect them to turn the moped off. I don't know what else you want to know to understand what my dilemma is, really. I told you, I want to know how to connect these 2 female spade connectors.

I just broke the green connector off when trying to crimp it with pliers, a lot.
*Sigh*
I am going to just take it to my local scooter shop. Thanks anyway.

So just strip a bit of the covering off of each one and twist them together to start it. If you don't need them to stay connected, then just strip the one and touch them together to get it started. Pretty simple really. Is this your bike? Duster 50cc
