Have a 150cc Chinese Ruckus clone. I want to add exhaust and a high flow filter, but don't want to run too lean and cause any damage. What do I need to do about changing jets in my carb? Thanks in advance

If it's a GY6 150 the stock jet is usually 104. Put an exhaust and filter on I'd go 115 for starters. Jets are cheap, buy a bunch both sides of your starting test jet. Then run the bike for a bit and check the plug....black and oily is rich, bare and dry is lean. Alley is the man on dialing in your mixture. I'll see if I can wake the old fart up. Alley! RIBS!! I knew that would do it!! Rich

You got it BRO, 112-115 will do the trick, it all also depends on how much compression the motor is making if really high it will take a 115 if not so high a 112. Alleyoop

It's good to see so many old crusties...er uhm I mean knowledgeable middle aged gentleman, with so much scooter experience. On a serious note, I really appreciate it. Is a 34mm carb going to be too much with the right jets, or should i stick with the factory 30mm?

And you do not need a bigger carb many make that mistake and then have a heck of a time trying to tune it, to much for a stock 150. Alleyoop

So am I looking for main jets or idle jets when I add the filter and exhaust? I am assuming a #112-#115 MAIN jet correct? Thanks!

Oh and while we are on carbs...Does anyone know what the outer diameter of the intake side of a stock 24mm carb is? Trying to order an intake/filter and don't have a scoot here to measure yet.

And here are the dimension for the 24mm carb: Inner Diameter (intake side): 24mm
Outer Diameter (intake side): 32mm
Inner Diameter (air filter side): 38mm
Outer Diameter(air filter side): 42mm Alleyoop

You have been very helpful so far. Thank goodness for people like you. Apparently due to forklift problems, my scooter hasn't left the Georgia warehouse. But, I am hoping shipping will be quick since I am in North Carolina.
