Hello all. More scooter trouble for me... I turn the key and my leds light up like normal. when I pull the brake, they turn off and my starter doesn't engage at all. What do I do? Thanks in advanced.

Sounds like a short on the switch. Try bypassing it and see if you still get the same problem.

Check your brake light sockets I would bet a wire has come off, probably happened when you were putting in the LED bulbs. Alleyoop

LED bulb not passing enough voltage thru to complete circuit?

Did it come with LEDs? Could be not enough load on the circuit, but I'd still check the switch.

The brake switch is only a on or off type switch so I it can't be the switch. You have a live wire going into the switch and another wire from the switch to feed the brake lights and solenoid. So when you squeeze the brakes the contact inside the switch all it does is pass's the 12volts to the other wire that feeds the Brake lights and solenoid. So with that said if the switch was bad the BRAKE LIGHTS would be on all the time OR would not come on. Alleyoop

Alley,
Yes, I agree with you mostly. I have seem switches fail to pass the full amount of current. It's rare, but it happens. Too much water and it builds up a minerlized coating, usually salt, and fails to fully pass the current.
