Earlier this month I went to the VA for eye check up. Prescription changed quite a bit. Long story short.... new glasses. I ended up getting 2 pair from them and they suggested I pony up a few bucks and they would make me some yellow ones for night driving.
Wow do they make a difference. Cuts glare and increases contrast.
I did not opt for bifocals and glad I didn't. I would have to tip my head to read speedometer a little on car and a lot on a cycle or scooter. With bifocals speedometers are out of focus for me. I wish I would have thought of getting one more pair of yellow so I could leave one in the car and one on the scooter. I may just call them about it.

I use progressive lenses. (no line bifocals) because I'd be wearing Tri-Focs otherwise. I love'em. Transition lenses so they auto-change to shades for me and I got the extra dark coating. Now they just came out with a new kind of transition lens made for driving. I'm looking at a pair for the car and one for the bike. Or, if I can get them in my script, then hey! Crusin! New DRIVEWEAR lenses here.

I need the progressives to see both the dash and the road and have had those "drivewear" lenses for two years now. They do as advertised. I don't like the VA glasses, they are too fragile and my eye doctor doesn't like those yellow lenses. But I may look into them as I did find them useful for shooting before needing glasses for other than reading.

The VA glasses may be a little more fragile so I have to be a little more careful is all and for sure the price is right. It sure beats having to pay $300 at the local opticians. One thing I did maybe ten years ago is to quit wearing them awful, heavy, and huge lenses I used to think I needed and that alone made my glasses last a lot longer. I had an arm break off a year and a half ago and they just made me a new set.
I tried the ones they advertise on tv that you put on over regular glasses and better than nothing but not good. You have the regular glasses to reflect the glare back between them. And they can't fit right either having to go over the others.

Try $760.00 for a pair of glasses bros. Ultra dense plastic because my script is so severe. Factor in no glare and scratch resistant and OUCH.

Too bad you can't go to the va, no scratch or glare on their regular ones but price is right. and you get one every 2 years worst case.
