I was having a tough time getting the plastic up and over the brake fluid thingee on top of my scooter when changing the headlight assembly) but managed to anyway. At first I tried to take the lid off of this to give me more room to get the cover off and quickly realized that turning these screws are like putting a screwdriver into butter. Super cheap screws that will strip with just one more turn.

I don't need to change the brake fluid now but am trying to be proactive.

Does anyone know the type and length of screw I'll need to put in here? Also what kind are good for not rusting?

It also doesn't hurt to have spare screws on ya

If I have to use a backout set to get these out when the time comes that's fine because I have one.

Those things suck. Even on my Honda they suck. They are soft screws and worse, they are JIS and not a normal American phillips head. Order a handfull off of ebay. You're gonna need them.

I think they are 4mm x 12mm. Not sure what the thread pitch is. If you can get one out take it to a hardware store and match it. To get screws out like that need a inmpact driver rotates in either direction.

get stainless allen head screws,,,end of story

Definitely get stainless steel, they're well worth the extra cost.

Thanks guys. I could not remember which material was stronger for screws. I went to Home Depot and just got a stainless steel screw assortment with ones that look like they would fit. I'm sure I will use the other ones at some point to. If not I have the receipt
